Spurs Yo Watch Çakır Again on Saturday

Spurs are serious about 23-year-old (24 in April) Trabzonspor goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır as I wrote on Saturday.

Spurs Scouting in Turkey

We watched his last game and we are sending a scout out to watch him again in his next game on Saturday against Beşiktaş at the Vodaphone Park, Istanbul, Turkey, the home of Beşiktaş, who sit a lowly 7th in the Turkish Super Lig table.

Trabzonspor sits top by a point and are on a streak of 6 games unbeaten, their longest winning streak for the last 9 seasons. This is the first time in 298 weeks that they have completed a week at the top of the table.

Çakır is still being tracked by Liverpool according to his agent, Engin Kirkpinar and three other Premier League clubs, we are one of them obviously.

Reports in Turkey suggest that Trabzonspor would not let him go for less than £14.95 million (€18m - AUS$29.10m - US$19.47m).

Hugo Lloris has needed to be challenged for a few seasons now and Paulo Gazzaniga doesn't. His Chelsea moment will spell the end of his Tottenhamtime I am sure.

This guy from Turkey does seem to have something about him and looks as if he commands an area. A younger Lloris would be now that he is 33 (34 in December) perhaps his judgement is failing, he is trepidacious where he needs to be bold.

Perhaps we need a youthful goalkeeper to command the box for the coming years. Lloris looks to be on the decline, something to look at during the remainder of the season.

Peter Shilton went on too long and couldn't jump off the floor which cost is against Maradonna's handball, then David Seaman was too old and it was inevitable the same Achilles heel would strike, this time against Brazil.

We need a keeper for the next 8 years to grow with the side.
