Roma interested in Spurs-linked Argentina striker

TRANSFER TALK

Ex-Sevilla Director of Football Monchi built many sides in Spain and won 5 UEFA Europa Leagues continually buying and selling players. Clearly he can spot players who can play, or his network of contacts can and news arrives from Italy that he is being linked with a player we have previously taken an interest in.

The 24-year-old (25 in October) Argentinian international (he has scored 1 goal in 3 full international appearances for his country) striker catching his eye is Lucas Alario of River Plate, a player we were strongly linked with last summer.

Alario is under contract until 2020 and has also been linked with several Serie A clubs Sampdoria, Genoa, Fiorentina, Napoli and Inter Milan. Roma can now be added to that growing list.

The 1.78 m (5 ft 10 in) tall forward is of particular interest to Italian sides because he holds an Italian passport. he has scored 23 goals and had a further 6 assists in 52 Argentinian Primera División games.
