Walcott names Bale third best player in the world

Theo Walcott has named his old mate Gareth Bale as the third best player in the world. They are the same age, were at Southampton together and were room mates.

"If I’m being honest I didn’t think he’d be, for me now, the third best player in the world. It’s just my opinion.
"When you think he’s a left-back and kept moving up and up and now can obviously play at No.10, left-wing, right-wing and some of the goals he scores. He’s proving me wrong, that’s for sure.
"We’re the same age. We used to live in the same room together at the lodge at Southampton. We loved messing about."

What he should have added, was look at us now, he is at Real Madrid and I am stuck as a bit-part player at Arsenal.

The difference in the two rather demonstrates the mentality it takes to be a winner, Gareth Bale strove to add to his game all the time, he didn't make excuses, he came up with a new free-kick whereas Walcott was happy at the level he was at.

It takes dedication to get to the top, you have to be internally driven or you simply won't get there, Bale was, Walcott wasn't.
