Valencia option for Fazio

Sevilla want Federico Fazio to return to them and hope Levy will allow him to leave on loan, no chance of that happening. They are also looking at 26-year-old Peruvian Carlos Zambrano who plays in Germany for Eintracht Frankfurt.

Valencia are said to be interested in Fazio too, a move that may interest given the money the owner has, the regularity of UEFA Champions League football and a return to a league he knows well, La Liga. It would certainly be an alternative if the Sevilla move doesn't come off. Valencia are also interested in 25-year-old Cameroonian Nicolas N'Koulou at Marseille.

In Spain the Director of Football role makes the purchases and gives players to the coach. He naturally has his say but the Director is the one making the decisions as opposed to the manager over here. Mauricio Pochettino is the same as the coaches before him, he has the say yes or no to any player, the club act upon his wishes, rather than he acting on the clubs wishes.

Fiorentina are another interested party having enquired about him in December when they received encouraging noises from Fazio's father.

"Right now there are many teams that are taking information about him, more or less throughout Europe. The Purple is one of the possibilities."

Naturally everyone wants him cheaply, usually at this time of year on loan with an option. Spurs are not interested in option loan deals only deals that involve a guaranteed permanent transfer.
