Powerful organisations, powerful people, powerful countries think they can do just what they want and get away with it, as if they are above the law. The higher you climb the greater your responsibility, but as we have seen with the West Ham Olympic Stadium stitch-up of the taxpayer, FIFA and now with UEFA head Michel Platini implicated, they simply pay lip service to it.
Just as footballers are role models have have certain standards to set the children watching, not the standards Jack Wilshere employs obviously, so senior officials have a duty od care to the image of the game. That image is now one of corrupt officials, Italy seems rife with scandal within the game and with match fixing you have to wonder how far it goes down the line.

The Swiss and US authorities have been investigating world football, about time somebody did. The Swiss are focused on whether bribes were paid during the bidding process for the awarding of the 2018 and 2022 Wotld Cups awarded to Russia and Qatar, respectively.
If clear evidence of misconduct emerges, both countries could be stripped of their hosting rights, FIFA officials have said.
