The news you have all been waiting for

Well there you have it folks the mainstream press are now catching up on the news of the last couple of days over our signing of Lyon striker Clinton Njié.

Njié arrives for medical, £45k terms agreed
Statistics show why Njié is a better option than Austin or Berahino
The Cameroon international will soon be a Spurs player assuming he passes the medical of course with personal terms already having been agreed, a five-year contract on a basic salary of £45,000-a-week. The deal was only held up by the two sides discussing how to pay the transfer fee rather than how much.
The actual transfer fee wasn't an issue, Tottenham wanted the player and it was just a question of Lyon obtaining a payment structure that was acceptable to them. That involved a lot of negotiation and many offers until the eventual deal was agreed upon.
Lyon are going to receive the reasonable guaranteed sum they were looking for (£10m - €14m) while Tottenham have secured some of the overall fee in add-ons (£2.14m - €3m) that may or may not be triggered. It is no accident that we have over £2m add-ons as we include those in every deal, unless we can obtain more, as we did with the Érik Lamela deal.
The stories that we included £13m in add-ons in the Roberto Soldado deal are plain daft, who in their right mind is going to sell a player and say we don't want any guaranteed money. What would you say if we had sold Luka Modrić for £15m with £15m of add-ons that we may never receive? Having had contacts in Valencia I can tell you there are only our usual standard add-ons in that deal.
Now that Njié has all but signed, stories of outgoings start. He is small and pacey so can play as a striker, off the striker or as a wide attacker, we can hardly call our wide men wingers. Emmanuel Adebayor is being Emmanuel Adebayor, Soldado has his move to Villarreal all lined up, but Aston Villa sense that we could now be in a position to let Andros Townsend go.
Still plenty of time left in the window to add another striker, a central midfielder and potentially a wide attacker. Prices start to come down now as clubs get nervous they may not be able to shift players something we will have to do to shift Aaron Lennon.
We are slowly getting a hungry squad together.
