Llorente actively helps young teammates

Without a doubt, Llorente is a positive influence as several of his team-mates regularly praise his contribution to the press and they don't just mean when he is on the field of play. Spanish compatriot Alvaro Morata, the young Real Madrid striker they signed last summer told Spanish paper Marca that Llorente “has helped me in everything and taken care of me.”

That is exactly what Harry Kane and another young striker if we sign one, need. It makes sense to have two young and one experienced and to use his experience to improve the youth. Can you see Adebayor improving a youth player, he is not the sort of role model or influence you want with a young team. The character of the individual is just as important as his playing ability.

Llorente has the ability, the stature, the experience, so while some are questioning his age, I'd suggest he is what we need. Experience is useless if you are not passing on that experience and actively helping younger players handle pressure better. An experienced player or a star of a team must make everyone feel important so they can get the best out of their game. Everyone has an off day and helping a young player cope with that, especially during a game is beneficial for the team.

Llorente demonstrated just this approach off the field when he greeted new signing Pablo Dybala, a fellow striker, arriving for his medical at Juventus. Immediately h is making him feel important, a talented and respected player has gone out of his way to welcome him, a small touch bit an important one.

At Athletic Bilbao, he played under Marcelo Bielsa finishing runners-up in the UEFA Europa League scoring 7 goals along the way. He will understand and has experience of the type of system that Pochettino plays, which would only help him settle at the club quickly. All of this is of course if he signs, from what I understand he is not the first choice option, but an option should we fail to be able to convince our targets that Tottenham is the place to be.

The Llorente approach or the Adebayor approach, not a contest.
