Will Pochettino follow up interest in Micah Richards?

Tottenham are interested in Manchester City and England right-back Micah Richards according to recent reports in Italy.
A bench warmer for Manchester City he moved to Italian side Fiorentina on a season long loan deal and has spent most of the time warming their bench instead, still I suppose it was warmer than Manchester and more picturesque.
The same reports suggest Southampton are keeping an eye on his situation with several clubs interested in Nathaniel Clyne. There has been talk of Tottenham being interested in the saints right-back as he only has a year left on his contract but Southampton are said to want another inflated fee for him, £18 million. Because he only has a year left he isn't worth more than the £10 million Liverpool have offered. Have a word with his agent and get him for free next year is the easy answer to that one.
Clearly with Tottenham interested in Kieran Trippier 26-year-old Richards is not our first-choice option, even though he is out of contract at the end of June. He managed just 564 minutes in Serie A in 20 games which equates to only 6.27 full games. That's two clubs now where he couldn't get into the side, he was once a decent player, is he still after his injuries?
Given he has just returned to the country and we are looking to make early signings, we may find out if we are going to follow up our interest in him shortly.
