One time outcast Nabil Bentaleb is attracting interest from Lazio, Napoli, Juventus and Premier League rivals Manchester City according to Algerian website Le Buteur.
Former England, Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Jamie Redknapp rates the young Algerian and he ought to know a thing or two about playing in midfield, especially under the pressure of expectation.
Not bad for a boy no French club wanted, who was thought to have an attitude problem and who hawked himself around the English game in an effort to be given a chance. Tim Sherwood took a chance on him and he has repaid that faith massively. That one act now has Bentaleb feeling Spurs are his club, which is great for supporters to hear and great in the fact it helps us retain a player. The more affinity players can have with the club the better, they then want to achieve things with the club and not jump ship.
Bentaleb himself knows he is not the finished article yet as he revealed to the club website before the Southampton game. He admits he has a lot of improving to do, it's that attitude and the drive to do it that marks he and players like Harry Kane out as people you want at the club.
He seems to have an affinity with Mauricio Pochettino and went to him to clasp hands after he crossed the ball for Harry Kane to head the winner against Arsenal. he reports a great atmosphere at the club, being a young group of players keen to improve. For a coach players who want to learn are a joy, it's the same in any sport or any classroom.
Open responsive minds learn and improve, closed ones don't. There seems little chance of him leaving, he has been a regular under Pochettino and the club have been negotiating a new contract with his representatives.

"Bentaleb has been very good this season and regular. It is one of four players from Tottenham this season,"

“To be honest, I need goals, assists and to be stronger in every part of my game. I know I can do that. I can be better in my passing and my defending.
“It’s been a positive season because I’m improving, but I’m not at the level I want to be yet. For instance, I really should have scored with my header at Newcastle. It’s situations like that where I know I need to improve but I’ve learned many things. If I want to get better, I know I can’t sleep on what I’ve done so far, I can’t stand still. The best players always want more, they push themselves all the time. I’m confident, I want to learn and the gaffer will help me progress. I’m only at the beginning and I can push further.”
