A brief look at the headlines on a tour of the web today ahead of the big North London Derby tomorrow lunchtime.
Has the mantle of England's next great striker shifted from Danny Welbeck to Harry Kane?
Answer, NO, Welbeck has never had the next great striker mantle so it can hardly shift. He is a good player but there does seem to be something missing, when motivated he is a handful and he does seem to be motivated lately playing for England, perhaps leaving him out for a while had something to do with it.
Christian Eriksen can be best in country,’ says Tottenham boss, ahead of Arsenal clash
Christian Eriksen is in a run of form for Spurs this season and has turned into quite a goalscoring midfielder this season, both from free kicks and open play.
“Yes, so far [he is matching Sanchez and Fabregas this season]. Christian has the possibility to get to the same level. His contribution so far is as great for the team.”
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger praises Spurs striker Harry Kane
Fans may be blind but managers aren't and even Arsene Wenger has had to sit up and take note of Harry Kane this season.
“It’s impressive the way he’s made his way through. He’s one of the players who has made an impact throughout the season.”
Harry Kane wants to emulate Tottenham icon Ledley King and spend entire career at White Hart Lane
Man of the moment Harry Kane was asked if he could remain at Spurs for his career and he saw no reason why not. It's good to hear a player who get it, who understands that's what the fans want when a quality youngster comes through the ranks, we want some loyalty.
“I don’t see why not. Tottenham are a great club on the rise. I hope we get better and I’d love to stay here for as long as possible.
“If I’m still here in 10 years, I’d be over the moon. A lot of players today, when they do well, they end up going to another club or moving abroad. It depends on the situation at the time but at the moment, I’m looking t be a Tottenham player for many years.
“You look at players like Ledley, Ryan Giggs and Steven Gerrard. To stay at one club at the top level the way they have shows how good they have been. It’s great for them and great for the game. It’s fantastic for the fans to have players who have been there for so many years.
“I’d like to have won some trophies by then, [end of new contract in 2020] because that’s how you’re defined as a player, as well as to be playing regularly for England.”
