Danny Rose Performance Report
Danny Rose put in another excellent performance that fully justified the club offering him a new 5-year-deal. He is starting this season even better than he started last season and Ben Davies has a real fight n his hands to claim a place at left-back.He defended well, wasn't beaten by balls inside him and got up and down the left flank throughout the game. When called upon to defend he looked solid and you wouldn't see Ben Davies jumping ahead of him in the queue any time soon. Davies will no doubt start the UEFA Europa League tie against AEL on Thursday and barring injury Rose is a certainty to play against Liverpool, there can't be many time we have been happy to say that.
He had a hand in the final goal where he combined well with Nacer Chadli with no space on the left touchline. He played the ball forward and overlapped beyond the Belgian, who then played him in with a nice ball down the line. Clear and unmarked he could have bore down on goal or decided to take Rio Ferdinand on but instead saw Adebayor was making a run in the middle unmarked and slotted a first time ball just beyond Ferdinand's despairing lunge to cut it out. The ball was inch perfect for Ade who didn't break stride in tucking it away.
Left-back is suddenly not a weakness, Pochettino's tactics and the arrival of Ben Davies have seen Rose up his game considerably. Keep it up Danny boy.
