As predicted Italians offer £8.12 million for Sandro

Italians Napoli have offered £8.12 million (€10m) for defensive midfielder Sandro but Spurs price him at double that amount.

Italians offer £8.12 million for Sandro

I brought you the story of Blerim Džemaili yesterday and he was being linked by the Italian press because they wanted Sandro or Capoue and the following day stories emerge of an offer for Sandro, so predictable.

Sandro is a fans favourite at Tottenham and he is well aware of it which is why having made noises when Tim Sherwood was in charge that he wanted to leave he came out to say he was staying at Spurs.

At the time he revealed Italian clubs were trying to sign him but that they weren't offering Daniel Levy enough money so leaving would be difficult. If a club matched our valuation Sandro would be off and if not he'll stay and tell the fans he never had an intention of leaving, that's how footballers work the media.

Personally I think £16.25 million (€20m) is still cheap for the best enforcer in Europe especially given that he is only 25 with years ahead of him. His poor season was as a result of coming back from injury and then not being in the right state of mind when Tim Sherwood was in charge.

Sandro fits the style of football Mauricio Pochettino wants to play. Defensive midfielders are important to him so it is highly unlikely that he will want to let of the best, if not the best, in Europe leave.

The Brazilian certainly won't be leaving for the pittance offered.
