Out-of-favour defender could do a job for us

With Newcastle in the turmoil their in, a few of their players have announced that they will leave. Roll up; Habib Beye.

The 31 year old defender was one of the few that impressed me personally last season.

As Harry said yesterday, we are in need of a centre back. Anyone else agree that Beye could be utilised in our squad?

From what I've read, I know he's available, but at which price is anyone's guess.

    You're getting confused with Bassong, I think.
  4. Don't really see the point of signing another central defender. What happens when everyone returns to fitness? I think we should just muddle through and give Dervite a chance.
  5. Beye is a right back but he himself has said that he prefers to play at centre half. He played as a centre half for the majority of last season.

    Play Naughton at right-back.

    I think Beye would be an okay option as he can play at centre-back.

    Last I read on Bassong was that Newcastle wanted £8 million for him.
  8. Its high time we blooded a few youngsters - only Jamie O'Hara has come throght since Carr & Ledley. Give Dervitte a chance - we could end up saving ourselves 5-6 million.

    Also lets see Rose & Bostock giving opportunities this year.
