Harry's Signings

Regardless of what some media sources are stating, I feel that Harry won't go out "guns blazing" in an attempt to sign a whole host of new talent.

I have said for a while now that I believe a deal was struck in January with Middlesbrough to bring Downing to Spurs in the close season.

I also believe the news that we are discussing a deal with Inter to sign Sulley Muntari.

Harry Redknapp may move Darren Bent & Jermaine Jenas on, but I have a feeling that David Bentley and Tom Huddlestone will remain at the club.

If Bent does leave, I can see Harry attempting to sign a replacement, but don't expect Blackburn's Santa Cruz to be that player, or anyone of that ilk.
To be honest with you, I personally believe that Downing & Muntari will be the only two players that we will sign this summer.

Maybe that's a good thing. After so many seasons in which we seem to buy a new side, let's hope for a summer of settlement and continuity.

  5. please not downing....if we need a left sided player, why not matty taylor? hes better that downing.

  8. err hang on lads...we're not that good! I was at the Newcastle game and our final ball was shocking. We still can't finish a team off, and are brittle in many areas. We still need a CB and we do need some left midfield width. And, contrary to what we have gone out and bought a brace of, we still need an out and out goal machine. Difficult to get I admit, but blimey we don't half miss chances, or not take chances that a Torres or Arshavin would bury (hate to mention the last one). And here's a question to mull over...would Harry have gone and bought Modric, undoubtedly one of our star players this year? Portsmouth never set the world alight with beautiful football. You can hear the chants for next year "One nil to the Tottenham"...it won't satisfy most Spurs fans, I can tell you.
  9. please can we not sign more than 2 players this summer. THe problem with spurs is that we change the squad every season and cannot get a settled team. we need to be patient as there is no point us having a young squad and not giving them at least 3 years to prove themselves.
    okay so pav hasnt been brilliant, but nor was drogba in his first season. we all know bently is pretty good so keep him to create competion in the squad.
    all in all we have at least 2 good players in every position so there is no need to go splashing out on a new squad.
  10. i happen to know that Niko Kranjcar is coming to the lane this summer for absolute certain, and i am told that a deal for Downing rests on whether they stay in the premiership or not. Also, if sunderland are relegated we have first refusal on Kenwyne Jones who has a relegation release clause which is something like 6m to 8m.
  11. I think you will be completely wrong. My guess is 6 or 7 - goal keeper, left back, left midfield, centre midfield (someone similar to Palacios so he can play 4-2-3-1 in away games) and 1 or 2 forward depending on who we sell. Then there will be a complete surprise -someone we don't need but better than what we have, say, Glenn Johnson.
