Spurs are Handed a Potential Banana-Skin Opener

Tottenham Hotspur's first game for the upcoming 2007/2008 season is against the high flying Championship winners, Sunderland.


Roy Keane's side won't be a push over for Spurs. They play a decent game and will be out to show the rest of the Premiership teams that they mean business.


This is a must win game for Spurs. If they are to make a statement to the current top four teams (especially Arsenal), they need to win games like these.


I don't think we should expect a rampaging attack style of play. A professional approach to the game will probably be applied. If Spurs can win this difficult game, their season will be off to a great start.

  3. I like the look of the second half a season - in fact apart from liverpool last game I see no reason why we cant win most if not all of our games from march. Last season we needed to win one more against any side and one against Scum/Liverpool and we would have been in champ league.

    And if we can't beat Sunderland then we are shite

  7. I have very mixed feelings about Sunderland away. However what I DON'T have mixed feelings about is the phrase "Potential banana skin"!
