Spurs Not In For Baptista
By Jaymes Payten-Marsh

Reports that Spurs have made a £12.5 million offer for Sevilla’s Brazilian superstar Julio Baptista are untrue.
Sevilla president Jose Maria Del Nido said: "There are now more offers on the table than the one from Arsenal. Another English team has made a bid."
The Sun has said that it maybe Tottenham that put in the bid, but unfortunately, it is Manchester United that have made the increased offer.
The confusion came when Baptista was interview and asked what team he would like to play for in the Premiership. He went on to say that he always supported Tottenham Hotspur while in Brazil and continued to follow them in Spain.
Reports put one and one together and came up with three.
Shame really, as he would have been a hit down at the Lane. He has perfect control, is a great header of the ball and a pretty good finisher also.
It seems as though we are now being linked with one player everyday on average. I wish it would stop!
We need an attacking central midfielder. After we land one, they can link us with whomever they please.

anything to drag traffic to your shite site eh?
Personally, I agree with you. As we know Spurs are usually linked with everyone these days.
Seems unlikely that we would bid over £10m for anyone given current club policy but there must be some substnace behind your comments other than reading it in the tea leaves
If you have a problem with THBN, then get lost.

Should Atouba really be playing in a defensive position?
Dribbling Player Dribbles Dribble %
1 Jermain Defoe 164 53%
2 Frederic Kanoute 152 54%
3 Robbie Keane 142 54%
4 Thimothee Atouba 112 75%
5 Simon Davies 101 59%
Dribbling Player Dribbles Dribble %
1 Damien Duff 214 53%
2 Frank Lampard 176 54%
3 Joe Cole 176 54%
4 Arjen Robben 166 75%
5 Eidur Gudjohnsen 130 59%
That's great!
I have a feeling that if we don't sign an attacking midfielder, Reid will play in the centre, with Reto on the left (unless we sign Richardson).
What do you lot think of Rosicky?
Stalteri___King____Dawson____Edman
Routledge__Reid____Carrick__Ziegler
___________Mido______Defoe
Thats how we'll play
To be able to finish fourth, we would need to sign 1 world class attacking midfielder, 1 world class left winger, and 1 world class striker.
We all know that ain't gonna happen.
To be able to finish above Liverpool for that fourth spot will be very difficult.
Everton did it because they had luck. Don't no one tell me otherwise. We destroyed them at the lane. They didn't have any injuries also.
We can finish 5th.
I would rather have micki brown in there. Rosicky is that clever attacking midfield who could be our creative spark but at 8m is a rather risky acquisition with his slight build and untried at premiership level.
We get linked with so many players, and will continue to do so until we actually sign one of that position, i just hope we dont get too much of a let down, and keep getting behind our supporters.
Im already in Stevenage, working until 1, but i predict a 4-1 victory, with a good performance from some of our new faces!!
I like the idea of saviola for free or at cut price. he's a spurs fan and he will be better for us than juninho did at boro (his first stint).
If we have, then levy has done something right for once, this is the kind of player we need, I saw him play in a few matches last season and he is an excellent striker
6.5 for postiga was bad business too.
We dont need another wasteful big-time purchase.
BTW, diego did not really light up the Portuguese League last season.
WEe need atop class striker and a scoring creative midfielder, spend the money on those two things and we'll rise in the league, if not we're gonna be in mid table all over agai, which i am sick to fucking death of!!
1) start up a website
2) Put it on newsnow by making up stories and rake in the advertisng revenue
4) Genius!!
I'd rather spurs learn the lessons of its own past (rebrov, campbell) and be more risk aversed than buying an untested quantity which could very well turn out to be a very expensive lemon.
Or he can also partner Saviola...
Defoe would continue to struggle like the end of last season if Jol continues with reliance on wingers. Our long balls/crosses rarely found his head and he kept on falling over so easily.
BTW, what is slagging off the goons with obscenities gonna achieve?
Instead of personal attacks and excessive Goon-bashing, why cant we all be cool gentlemen and focus on Spurs.
I have read more stuff on Baptista, sounds like he's worth the 12.5m punt.
And I am not against Jol's wingplay tactics. Just that Defoe wont always be automatic choice in a cross-intensive strategy. We have to use on ground direct-passing for Defoe to flourish further. We havent got the creative midfielder to supply Defoe yet. Unless Tainio is the one for the job.
We will get 50k++/week players only if we get to be in the CL every year.
Dave, I am all for you replacing Arsenen if you can get these 3 players come to Spurs. Or at least one of them.
Would you say he is at the same level of Everton's Osman? Or even Cahill?
Talk something Spurs.
Cahill has the knack to be at the end of crosses for Everton. We rarely see our central midfielders being anywhere near the 9yard box, except during set-pieces.
That goes for everyone disliking this site. If you don't like it, get lost.

get rid of the following,
Jackson (Championship material)
gardner(if he can pass a 2nd medical)
Atouba(If I see another drag back in our penalty are I'll kill him)
Mido(all hype and no trousers)
Kanoute(if wba want to pay 4.5 mil for the shot scuffer supreme, then take the money and run)
Keane ( always misses the one on one goal chances and is costantly moaning and complaining on the pitch like a spoilt brat)
With the money we got already and the sales of some of the above, we can get some seriously top clas players, onne clas act midfielder and possibly 2 great strikers
Come on levy you stingy yid git, get youre cheque book out!!!!
Spurs 3-0 up against stevenage. Good start. And good luck in the Peace Cup. Looking forward to it.
I think the current set of players can very well take us to UEFA spot, possibly almost CL material. We need better consistency : winning more away matches, doing the double over relegation candidates and beat at least 17 teams at home.
40k/week for him then,
and 10k*52weeks bonus if we get to CL next season!
EMRE
he is the complete player
i just cannot believe we havnt gone for him at around 4-5 mil that is an absolute steal.
if we get him we will be challenging next season.
Big money buys now!! two strikers and a scoring passing midfielder, now!!!!
I read an interview with Rosicky on sky sports in January in which he said Dortmund wanted 3m for him and he felt that was too much! That can't be right surely but does show how much cheaper these players are then you think!
Figos deal is being held up over 2mil too!
i like the idea of rosicky too, he's small but he's sooo skilfull and quick and, he's a scrapper.
THE ANSWER TO OUR CENTRE MID FIELD IS EMRE BELEZOGLU!!! MORE TECHNICAL THEN ANY MID FILED PLAYER IN THE PREMIERSHIP AND WOULD CUT THROUGH ANY TEAM LIKE A HOT KNIFE THROUGH BUTTER!
HE WOULD BE FEEDING THEM BALLS TO DEFOE LIKE CONFETTI!!! YIDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDS
HSV RULEZ!
W*E*L*C*O*M*E Timmy Atouba!
Let him go!!!

He did well in the Championship because he is a Championship player.
Baptista would be an amazing signing for us, but it is highly unlikely. With Arsenal & others knocking, he'll be tempted by the Champions League.
Playing Ardiles though, would be the best option for the attacking midfield role.
