Tim Krul to replace Hugo Lloris

It is highly likely that Hugo Lloris will depart White Hart Lane in the summer for pastures new. Tim Sherwood said recently that he is a genuinely world class player who has not said he wants to leave.

Tim Krul to replace Hugo Lloris

Clearly though with no Champions League football again he will consider his future after the World Cup so a new stopper may be required at Totenham.

Le Parisien sports writer Julien Laurens has also revealed Hugo Lloris is likely to leave after being told he will get Champions League football and that he is frustrated at Tottenham. In answering the question whether Lloris will be at Spurs nest season he said:
“I think that would be very unlikely.

“He’s just a bit frustrated by the way the season has gone. Don’t forget, he joined Tottenham because he was told they would qualify for the Champions League, if not in the first season than at least in the second and beyond.

“But it’s been two seasons now and I just think it hasn’t been how he expected when he joined.

“He had issues at the start with [former manager Andre] Villas-Boas and when he was sacked [Tim] Sherwood arrived and things didn’t really improve.

“And again they’re going to miss out on the Champions League and he’s not happy with it.

“I think a move to PSG could happen, they are looking for a goalkeeper, but there are not many clubs who will be looking for a goalkeeper and would be able to pay between £20million and £25million for him.

“It might be the case that there might not be anything better than Spurs to go to, so then I guess he would be happy to stay and try again for another season to finish in the top four.”

Number 2 Brad Friedel is no spring chicken so at least one new keeper will need to be signed. He has an unenviable task, Spurs have conceded more Premier League goals than any other side.

The future of Tim Krul at Newcastle United is uncertain. He is said to be considering his future with Tottenham, Milan and Juventus all interested in the Dutchman.

Krul has lost his place as first choice Holland keeper he believes as a result of not playing European football. He is a quality keeper whose first season in the Premier League was outstanding and is attracting a lot of interest.

Newcastle are well aware that Tottenham have identified Krul as the man they want to replace Hugo Lloris should he leave and have been looking for a replacement themselves, believed to be his Holland replacement 23 year-old Jeroen Zoet at PSV Eindhoven.

There is disharmony within the Newcastle squad and this summer is expected to see plenty of departures and arrivals. Hatem Ben Arfa has fallen out with manager Alan Pardew and the rest of the squad so he looks certain to be on his way.

Alan Pardew has also recently said that number 2 Rob Elliot is ready for regular first team football which he obviously wouldn't get if Krul stayed.

Krul like any footballer wants to win trophies and play at the highest level and he can't achieve that at Newcastle in the near future., but would he get it at Tottenham.Certainly if he does leave there will be no shortage of clubs after his signature.

When Spurs fans suggest we don't want European football they forget that players do and if Tottenham do not qualify for the Europa League then what is the attraction for a player to come to White Hart Lane?
