The building goes on
Tottenham Hotspur has entered a planning application and received permission to build a cinema complex and new homes near the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The Enfield Independent reports that Haringey Council has given authority to build 72 homes and a cinema on Tottenham High Road.
The site was formerly the offices of the Tottenham and Edmonton Weekly, printers Cusha and the Son printworks.
The scheme forms part of Tottenham’s long-term vision to develop the area and have already built more than 400 homes, whilst proposing to build 900 more at The Depot and Goods Yard.
The Tottenham High Road casing will be erected on a point of over to seven storeys high. The plans were approved by Haringey Council during a commission meeting last week.
Tottenham, of course, moved into the new 62,000-seat stadium in April 2019, but the income from that was delayed because of Covid which has set Tottenham's development plans back by approximately 3 years.
That is calculated bearing in mind a financial recovery period, an assessment of the actual income compared with projected income, a period of waiting to see how the Government would further handle the return of fans and follow-on Covid measures, before investing in the team.

The proposed design, which will rise 7 storeys, includes commercial, business and service space in addition to the four-screen cinema complex.

The development includes affordable housing, low-cost rent housing, intermediate rent housing, three-bedroom housing, one-bedroom flats, two-bedroom flats and a four-bedroom house.
The Haringey Council Planning Officer said the development would "significantly enhance the setting of both listed and locally listed buildings."

The off-the-field development doesn't stop and helps to revive the area as well as enhancing our appeal to investors, vital in today's competitive business world.
