Spurs Summer Transfer Window Day 64

Spurs Summer Transfer Window Day 64

Spurs Summer Transfer Window Day 64 and yesterday I visited my wonderful daughter and grandson I adore.

He really is a delight, he won't go on sand or in the sea but he is happy on a stone beach, treading carefully, pushing a trolley round a supermarket, entertaining everyone.

Nearly two and a half, I'd see him everyday if I could, but I have to put in hours of research each day for you guys so I'm better informed that the vast majority of social media dwellers and often journalists too.

I certainly feel like taking a day off every now and then, but often something will present itself and off I go writing again.

Not today though so I'll keep it short with a couple of transfer news updates.

Nicolò Zaniolo

the transfer of Nicolò Zaniolo is a bloody difficult one to get done as often seems to be the case with Italian clubs.

The goalposts keep moving and there is an internal struggle, Mourinho wants to keep him to challenge for the Champions League places whereas the club look at this from a financial viewpoint and are happy to sell, especially having brought in Dybala, who doesn't come cheap.

Tottenham agreed a deal with Roma and agreed a deal with Zaniolo, but then he played at the weekend, unusual when you're about to sell someone incase they get injured.

His Roma wage is reported to be around £75,000 a week and we have offered him very comfortably more than that and his agent is trying to get everything signed.

The delay in this move is not our end, it is theirs. We expected them to release him to sign everything but they haven't given him the green light to do so.

There is nothing Spurs can do but wait or move onto our contingency plan.

How long do we ait before we do that, given Conte really wants Zaniolo?

Harry Winks

Harry Winks has turned down clubs in Italy, reportedly because he wants to move to Valencia.

However, he is on £70,000 a week at Spurs and he isn't going to get that anywhere else.

Is that what has made him reluctant to leave in the past, is that what is making him reluctant now or is it that nobody has offered our reasonable transfer fee?

Certainly everyone is asking for him on loan or loan with option, nobody is offering the obligation we want.

Spurs want him gone, hence why he isn't training with the first team, but in these tough financial times for clubs nobody wants to take him on, they all want that get out clause.
