Ronaldo plus good or bad news for Spurs fans?

TRANSFER TALK

A Bola revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave Real Madrid and another Portuguese newspaper Record, have confirmed he will not return to Real Madrid from the Confederations Cup in Russia, where he is with Portugal.

Record say Ronaldo has been contacted by various people in the last few days and he is not very happy about being charged with tax evasion.

Earlier this week a Spanish state prosecutor accused 32-year-old (33 next February) Ronaldo of creating an offshore company to defraud authorities of £12.86 million (€14.7m - AUS$21.58m - US$16.45m) in unpaid taxes.

According to Spanish newspaper Sport, 24-year-old (25 next November) Italian playmaking midfielder Marco Verratti has told Barcelona director Javier Bordas that he is willing to join Barcelona. Both he and his agent met with the Bordas in Ibiza on Wednesday.

If that desl goes through then Barcelona won't be looking to firm up interest in Christian Eriksen, however, PSG have him on a list of possible replacements and whether Eriksen will be tempted to join them is unknown.

It is looking increasingly likely that Tottenham MUST win a trophy next season, players are simply not going to hang around forever, although we look to evolve rather than transform. We are still light in the attacking three behind the striker and need the area strengthening, rather than weakening.
