Jan Vertonghen has been brilliant with Toby Alderweireld and now that the younger Belgian is injured Vertonghen has shown himself to be a top defender in his own right.
With a new partner in Eric Dier Spurs continue to keep clean sheets, unfortunately today not managing to bag a winner, but the Premier League isn't a one week contest. Nobody expected Arsenal only to get a point at home to Middlesbrough or Everton to lose at Burnley.
The expectation is that he'll be signing a new contract to extend his stay a further two years. On this form that is good news.

All I'll say about today was Jan Vertonghen was brilliant, again. Whatever Pochettino said to him after Monaco worked.
