The Forwards Rankings

The CIES Football Observatory, which is based in Switzerland, take OPTA stats and uses their own algorithm to give each Premier League player a rating. They do the same for the other four major leagues across Europe, Italy, Germany, Spain and France. Each player topping the ratings receives a 100 score.

The interpretation of statistics from Switzerland rate Erik Lamela as the third best forward in the country with Mahrez of Leicester City topping the ratings. Mahrez is also in the top two of the official Premier League ratings which is no surprise to me having watched him show our wide attackers how to play the role. Andros Townsend could learn a lot from him.

Erik Lamela has turned around his Tottenham career after coming into this season with a new mental attitude. The figures back-up what we see each week now.
