Disappointing Townsend proving popilar

While Tottenham denied he was for sale earlier in the window it was revealed that the winger had been offered to clubs. Andros Townsend wants to stay and fight for his place at Tottenham, naturally, but there are four clubs now chasing his services.

West Jam, who seem to get linked to all our players, understandable if they want to improve, Aston Villa, where former interim manager in all but name Tim Sherwood seems to want to be reunited with  those players he felt fought for the club, Newcastle United who after years of getting the club onto a sound financial footing are now looking to build and Sunderland who are always linked with our players it seems and look in dire trouble after only two games this season.

It seems we value the 24-year-old at £15-million, not doubt a price with an extra element added for him being home grown. He hasn't figured because of a shoulder injury but the 24-year-old  is another player who has not pushed on after breaking through, which is rather disappointing, although not surprising as regular readers will be aware.

It does beg the question if we think Andros Townsend is worth £15-million how much do we think Erik Lamela is worth?
