Ayew to Swansea now

Harry Redknapp hasn't wasted any time since he joined Twitter, his eighth tweet reveals he has heard Ayew to Swansea is in the cards.

Heard Swansea are close to signing Andre Ayew from Marseille. He's on the way there with his agent Mark Mackay to do the deal. Good player.

Tottenham scouted Ayew, we talked to him since January but his wage demands are too high, Roma thought the same and pulled put of negotiations for him also. Inter were another club and West Ham United another.

Story after story says a deal is close but what all of them seem to ignore are his wage demands. He is leaving Marseilles because they have installed a wage cap and he didn't want to take a wage reduction to stay. As his contract was at an end he can leave on a free transfer so will want something in place for 1st July.

The latest is Swansea. They were linked with a £6 million (US$9.16m - AUS$12.03m - €8.25m) move for Ola John from Benfica but may have now turned their attentions to Ayew.

With no transfer fee he will be expecting a signing on fee in addition to his wages, which at Marseilles are nearly £58,000-a-week (US$68,765 - AUS$115,313 - €78,753).

Ayew won't accept anything less than £60,000 a week (US$91,620 - AUS$120,280 - €82,501) and is thought to want £70,000-a-week (US$106,890 - AUS$140,327 - €96,252). If someone wants to pay that for him or Yevhen Konoplyanka's £100,00-a-week (US$153,045 - AUS$198,870 - €135,782) demands good luck to them.
