Charlie into the middle, Naughton to start. Hutton's more interested in playing for his beloved Sweatyland. The sooner we get rid of him the better.

Whatever team he puts out, it should be enough to beat Hull, but after years as a Spurs fan I know thats not usually the case.

Hate the way Pav is being overlooked for an off-form Keane and Crouch who has only had 45 minutes pre-season and came on against Liverpool to no effect whatsoever.

totally agree with othello...pav is the second best striker out of the 4. and crouch cannot hold the ball up, defoe does a better job and hes half his size.

Pav scored & set up one in our last friendly just before scoring for Russia in their friendy. Why keane starts instead of him is beyond me. Didn't Arry say he would play the strikers that were on form ? I'm worried that this will de-motivate Pav & we will not see the best of him again. Major fuck up from our end if you ask me...

I have it on VERY good authority that Hutton is not in Harry's long term plans so he's only likely to be used in times of extreme need until he is sold.

its a shame charlie has to move position after playing so well against pool - i wonder if harry would be tempted to keep him at rb and play chimbo or hudd in the centre? unlikely but you never know. Keane looked a bit uncomfortable when he came off - no guarantee he will be fit. Playing Crouch does give us the option of defending a lead by removing the other striker and playing an extra midfielder.....having said all this, whatever team we put out should be good enough to beat Hull if we play to our potential.

I agree Pav for me.. I was gutted when 3 metre Peter come on instead of him. Bentley has a lot of making up to do before he plays again. I would like to Hutton given a chance and maybe Naughton coming on for Lennon 2nd half ?

I'm surprised nobody has suggested starting pav AND crouch up top.. We gave the two little men a shot against liverpool, why not let crouch and pav have a go and see who impresses more. Additionally, i think we could use the strength and size that those two bring up top against a physical side like hull, especially away from home. I think we'll struggle more playing through the center of the pitch on wednesday but i think lennon and modric with their superior pace and technical ability will really be able to express themselves down the flanks, resulting in lots of balls coming in either side- making the two big strikers the ideal target men for the day, imo.

i am with Max, I think starting two big guys up top will keep things fresh, Look at Man Utd they often tailor a side to face oposition and finaly we can do the same. our one weakness is Palacious. If we lose him we do not have a really decent alternative. I still think a good defensive midfield number 2 is required. I might even give Bently 1st hour on wing and then bring on billy whiz to finish em off (Harry knows best though)

The best thing is King doesn't risk his knees. Most probably Charlie would be in his place. As for up front, I hope Pav is given a chance, so it would be Pav and Defoe to start. If things don't go well, Keane could come in for Hudd, with Palacios behind him. Bentley could well come on for Lennon, in fact it's best he plays away for now, and get some minutes under his belt. I dunno what reception he'll get back at the Lane if he comes on. Well, we'll leave it to Harry. COYS!

I think Gomes should be warned that if he continues making mistakes he will be replaced. He makes too many errors of judgment. He does not seem to know when he should come out of his goal and when he shouldn't. He gave away a penalty stupidly in our match against Liverpool which could have cost us the game.

I am all up for giving Pav a chance but let's put things in perspective. His performances for Spurs have been akin to Steffen iversen another mediocre player. I hope he comes good but following his slow start he should expect to start on bench. I think he is talented, nice touch and keen for a goal but his strength and speed are a worry for the league. I am concerned that people doubt Crouch??!! Baffling. He didn't do anything when he came on, granted but that get out ball resulted in upwards of 8 throwins in 15 minutes in their half as they searched for an equaliser. The sort of thing that will be perfect against a physically strong Hulll team!

All I am saying is give Pav a chance.

Some of you havent a fucking clue about football. Robbie didnt score but he worked his socks off as usual and linked up play between midfield and attack as he always does. When he went off we stopped playing football and stared pinging it at Crouchies head, we were a poorer team for him going of and in general when hes not on the pitch. When fit he should always start.

Keane to play against Hull?? That will be a NO-NO!! His misses last Sunday...?? just rest him for a couple of games, make him think of his stupidty... Thought Arry's Sandra would have put them in!!

Keane makes a huge difference in team... Kings controls the defense, but it is Keane that slows the game to maintain control between midfield and attack... Yesterday was proof of it... the moment he was out, we looked weak.. you have to admin it..

For me a great team effort against the pool but i worry at this stage of asking to much of two players Wilson and Modric and as someone said already if we were to loose these two we would be in trouble.Sell Jenas,Bentley,Chimbonda,Hutton and Huddlestone and buy Arteta (every player has a price),Sissoko and Petrov(city one) this would give us cover and options better than we have now .Make this happen and we might have a chance of a top 6 finish but as always with spurs we will get close to having a team and not be prepared to spend that last million to get it.

King needs to be saved for Spam on Sunday. Would probably go for Corluka inside with Bassong. As Bassong now provides pace and power, Corluka's lack of pace is much less of a problem in the middle. Get Hutton in and if Lennon needs a rest, Bentley can come on and get some crosses in as Hutton loves to bomb forwards anyway, so Lennon's runs not as important. Middle probably same Palacios and Hudd, athough against a more physical team perhaps better if JJ is back or even O'Hara. Mod pulling the strings naturally from the left side. Up front, they did OK against Liverpool so maybe start with the Keane and Dofoe again, although Pav is probably well up for it after scoring in last few games. Depends on whether Keane is fit enough. Clearly Defoe had a quiet game on Sunday, but he is champing at the bit on recent form so def in starting line up and looking to get goals.

Hutton is not good enough to make it in the Premier League. He's second rate and unreliable, makes me wonder why we went to so much trouble to buy him when he clearly didn't want to come to Spurs...get rid of him I say.

This game will suit defoe over keane regardless of whether Keane is fit. Need a sharp finisher who's prepared to get a bit ruffed up by a desperate defence. I'd also play Pav over Crouch simply because he's used to our style of play now. He's a great finisher and will be fresh unlike last season. Crouch needs a bit of time to settle in. expect him to be a second half striker for the initial stages of the season.

What a load of twaddle. Let's all calm down. It was a great win against Liverpool, but let's all just sit back and remember that this is Spurs we are talking about. Hull showed against Chelski that they are no pushovers, and we are going to need a ballsy performance to win this game. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that this isn't just another false dawn! Wins against Hull and Spam, and I will come back on here and start crowing like the rest of you, but until then, I'm afraid that I reserve judgement.

All you idiots who think Keane was crap against liverpool need to learn something about football. Keane worked really hard, had all our best chances because he got into the right areas despite the fact he was alomost playing as a midfielder. Why cant you lot just get behind the man he still gives it 100% every game and plus once he gets one goal he will go on a run. Yes we have 3 other great strikers, but none of them are willing to work as hard defensively as keane and none of them show the resposibility of keane. Why dont you try to actually get to white hart lane and watch his work rate off the ball!

Just a thought, and I haven't read all the opinions on here so apologies if I'm repeating somebody else's views, but if King doesn't play and Keane starts on the bench, who wears the captain's arm band?

Did anyone watch pre-season? Huddlestone will start in defence alongside Bassong. Keane may well play behind the strikers, probably Defoe and Crouch. Charlie to stay at RB

If ever there was a time to use our full squad to it's best advantage, it would be during these midweek games. Especially at the start of the season when players are more injury-prone, due to a lack of playing-rythem (I know I just made that word up, but bear with me).

I'd suggest the following team, which should be rearing to go and not worry about the West Ham game:

Cudicini (Gomes is a bigger talent, but this fellow isn't bad either)

Naughton (give him an opportunity to prove himself)

Corluka (Mr. reliable)

Bassong (Would have liked to give him a rest, but there's simply no alternative right now)

BAE (this guy is really starting to win me over, but there's no cover for him with Bale always injured)

Bentley (deserves a chance to redeem himself, on and off the pitch)

Palacios (seems like he could play a match every day and still not break a sweat)

Modric (our inspiration, trul makes things happen on the pitch)
