Pavlyuchenko to be shipped off?

Erwin Staudt, the Stuttgart President, last night said that his club are still very much interested in signing a striker after the deal to sign Klass-Jan Huntelaar feel through.

"We are interested in a few forwards and have made enquiries for Roman Pavlyuchenko and other players that we feel can lift the club".

I actually would like us to keep Pavlyuchenko. I think we should give him the benefit of the doubt and see what he's like this season.

The only problem I can foresee is his sell-on fee. If he doesn't get the games (and I can't see him starting that many), his value will drop. Stuttgart apparently bid around £10 million for him last month, only to be knocked back by Levy (who spent £13.8 million on bringing him to Spurs).

If he doesn't play that often, how much do you think he'll go for next season? Less than £10 million? I think so.

So from a financial point of view, maybe Harry and Levy do want to be shot of him now. If he does go, I think we should give Obika a go. Let's let our youth flourish!

    He can't even understand English yet because he's too lazy to even learn English.

  2. We should keep Pavlyuchenko. The Premier League is very difficult to adjust to. I heard he played a full season of football in Russia and came straight to Spurs after that....meaning that he had no break and played 2 seasons back to back. He'll be exceptional this season, watch him and see.

I think Pavlyuchenko is a hard one he is quality but because he came from the Russian season and he can't speak english its hard to know yet what to make of him.I am more worried about keano he looks half the player he was and am worried with him we might struggle for goals is keane rather than Pavs our weak link in the striker end is he the one to make way.I am also worried about midfield they look work like but very little skill as if they need a quality leader as if anything happens to lennon we will have very few players who can do something different.

    Fact is, (as the 1st post says) Pav hasn't bothered to learn English..he's shown no desire or urgency in pre-season so it does beg the question...just how commited to the cause is he? Answer is, he's not. Time to cash in and buy someone who gives a monkeys.
  7. Obika is nowhere near reday yet. One for the future maybe. Pav will come good but needs a kick up the ass to get going. He has worked hard in some games and not got the service. Midfield needs bolstering to give him a chance this season.
  8. Keep Pav, he will come good this season, but the only way Pav should be sold is if we have secured the services of one Mr Huntelaar. I cant believe nobody else is interested in him, we can do a great deal, instead we get bloody crouch and we clear the way for the scum to get him with no competition.

    COYS - Better performance against shitty West Ham, lots of goal chances, PAV played well, but still look like we need 10 chances to put one away, just not good enough
  9. Give Pav a chance. We should sell keane and sign huntlaar, I think we will not be able to balance are side with one of the strikers being the captain! A captain should be a player who starts every game and not one who should be rotated to keep other players happy. in the last few years we have gone 2 steps foward and 10 steps back.

    Had a long season last year and is very clinical in the box.. think he will prove an effective player this season
  11. bang on with the last post...its the number of chances that we squander that is a bit of a cause for concern and pav is no exception!...KJH is a fantastic finisher and should have been the priority major signing alongside CB cover....think we still lack a bit of balance in midfield too..

  13. Bassong is close, maybe over the weekend, Huntelaar wont happen cus harry thinks the sun shine out of Crouchys ASS, well maybe it does , he's bloody tall enough for it to, hehe, but i will be well pissed off if we miss out on Huntelaar to the scum. It will happen, as per usual
  14. Pav has to stay, at least for another season. He's the best striker by far that we have and a true team player unlike the greedy little defoe or the sulky keane. Sorry I forgot, and the just useless crouch!

  18. Agree with keeping Pav.
    Also with giving Obika a few games this season if required, as he was unlucky not to score in europe last season when he got his start.
    Given the choice I would have got rid of Pav and kept Bent - but it looks like Bent is straining at the leash, and if they want out, best to let them go.
    Would like to see Bostock, Townsend, Parrett and Livermore get some games in the cups too.
  19. We have to keep Pav, he will be a legend if he gets a proper chance. Although i fear that Crouchy could ruine it for him, we all know that Harry's going to primarily go for Crouch Defoe up top and possibly swap it about between home and away matches. I just hope that Pav gets his chance to shine, and shine he will. We need to keep the faith and watch us push for 4th place. COYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
