"Arsenal must learn to win ugly" - I've heard that before

Another year, and another Arsenal player has come to the forefront with a comment of how Arsenal need to learn to play ugly.

Sound familiar? Believe it or not Theo Walcott's latest statement isn't the first time an Arsenal player has said exactly the same thing.

Emmanuel Adebayor in August 2008 said the same thing! He saw no change and so jumped ship (or is about to).

In November 2007, England International wanabe, Manuel Almunia, said the same thing.

There seems to be trend setting it. Arsenal simply can't play ugly. They may play fantastic football, but when it comes to getting their shirts dirty, they haven't got a hope in hell.

I expect them to have another trophyless laiden season and cannot see Cesc Fabregas playing for them in the 2010/2011 season.

With Manchester City now Arsenal's greatest rival, they may have to learn how to play ugly and learn quickly, for without a Champions League revenue stream, they may be in a spot of bother

    There's only so much you can write about the 439 players linked with us.

    When I saw the Theo Walcott line this morning, I laughed my head off as I was sure other Arsenal players had said something similar, hence the article.

    My assumption that Fabregas won't be there at the end of this season is shared by a great many people.

  8. Jesus why are you even posting this? We may not have won a trophy for a few years but still finish well above you lot with ease even though we have been far better. Like other Spurs fans have alreayd said you should worry about your own side.
  9. Actually PoshSpur it is not fact. Facts as far as far sport is concerned is measured by success. 13 titles to how many Spurs titles? 1 or is it 2? All I know is that you lot haven't won the title since the early sixties.

  12. Anonymous, They are not that much better than us. However what gets me is they are in denial and can't see it, they are on the way down. Perhaps it is their time to go through a rough patch. All Teams have it.
  13. Is that my IQ? Huh I don't get your reasoning. Yes you did beat us to the double (and every other team in the country) and yes you did beat us to a European final, but that's it mate. We have more than you, a lot more, it's very simple and is detailed wherever you want to find. It's like me trying to compare us to Manchester United, they have won more than us and are historically more successful, there's no argument.
    All the rest of you, we hear it year in year out how this is going to e the year we drop out of the top four or this is the year Spurs catch us. All good, I hope that gives you hope, let's chat at the same time next year when you will probably be saying exactly the same thing.
  14. Are Spurs fans now supporting Man City just because they have a better chance of competing with Arsenal due an Arabian windfall? Why do you not look on how Spurs can compete; questions like 'arry did a great job turning the desperate situation around last year but can he push Spurs to battle for silverware and/or European places? Instead you just hope the Arsenal lose out the City mercenaries. I despair at some football fans; I really do.

    Last sason we finished ahead of you by 21 points. Our goal differential was superior to yours by 31 goals.

    The season before we finished ahead of you by 40 points! Our goal differential was superior to yours by 38 goals.

    To put that into pespective, you only finished 35 points ahead of Derby County, the worst Premiership team ever. That means you can be better compared to that Derby team than you can the mighty Arsenal.

    Or how about we compare the last 5 seasons, including your magical "we would have had 4th if not for lasagne" season.

    Over the last seasons, Spurs have beaten their PL opponents by a combined 29 goals, while Arsenal have beaten theirs by a combined 190 goals! That's over 6 times better!

    In other words, YOU ARE NOWHERE NEAR US; STOP PRETENDING YOU ARE!

  28. When Arsenal moved to Highbury, Tottenham was still in South Middlesex. Tottenham didn't become part of London until 1965. Fact.
