Harry set to test Chelsea with Bridge bid

Harry Redknapp is close to making Chelsea's Wayne Bridge his first signing.

Chelsea boss, Phil Scolari has been told that he will only be able to sign players using funds made available from player sales and not from the pocket of Roman Abramovich.

This has alerted Harry, who is looking to sure up our back line. Harry isn't confident that Bale is good enough at left back at the moment, and so has been utilising Assou-Ekotto in the position.

Spurs believe that a bid in the region of £5 million will be enough to entice the Stamford Bridge manager to sanction the sale of 28 year-old Bridge.

If this transfer does go through, we believe that the signing of Bridge will be an absolute coup!

  1. Would be a top class signing. Bale could learn alot off him or play in front with them swapping postions.

    Bently to liverpool, we get Keane back plus Bable, we pay Liverpool £5m
    We are going to sign a striker on loan but not sure who just yet.
    trust me its all done and dusted.
  4. We would not pay Liverpool 5m in that deal(which isnt gonna happen anyhow), they owe us 15m, so 15+5 plus Bentley(16m) = 36m. We get bable and Keane. They combined are never worth anywhere near that. Even if you work on Keane staying at the 20m they were gonna pay that makes Bable 16m! Hes not worth more than 6/7m and Keane is worth 15m so why would we pay 14m over the top!

    spurs will probably try and loan bridge with a view to make it perm

    spurs will also ask chelsea about cudicini

    owen is of interest but his wage demands could scupper any deal or pre-contract signing

    other possibilities include joe cole, glen johnson, matthew upson and robert green...but any deals are likely to loan agreements with a view as levy is unlikely to sanction any big deals before the summer
  6. Hmm. Do not like this speculation around Bale. I think he is fantastic. I wonder if Harry is a bit superstitious and worried that we have not won a league game when Bale has played. Hey maybe send him to Arsenal. Seriously I think he is great
  7. One of my friends predicted Bridge would come to us a few months back. He would be a good signing. However all this talk of Keane coming back is rubbish and generally grating!

    Also - what are your thoughts on Pavleychencko? Very poor against Man U. Didn't win 1 header, didn't go in for ANY tackles and looked useless. Could he be the Gary Doherty of the striker world? Watch this space.
