Could this be Martin Jol's final game?
By Jesse Johnstone
A few media sources such as the BBC have commented on the fact that tomorrow's London derby against Arsenal could be Martin Jol's final game in charge as manager of Spurs if the club were to lose.
If we are to lose to Arsenal, the start to this campaign would have been the worst under Martin Jol since he became our manager, a fact that Levy and co are fully aware of.
A few debates have been going on within THBN these past couple of days, as we have tried to portray this site as being Pro-Jol, and have all united in our beliefs that Martin Jol is the man who can win things with Tottenham.
Out of the five main THBN contributors (Jaymes, Paul, Poshspur, Sam, and myself), two (no names mentioned) would now like a change in manager if we were to lose, whilst the other three (myself included) are fully behind Martin Jol, no matter what the result tomorrow.
Where do you stand on the Jol debate? If we lose to Arsenal tomorrow, would you feel comfortable if Mr. Levy sacked Martin Jol? Would you want Jol to stay on if we lost the derby? Would you want Jol replaced no matter what the result?
Do you think the Premier League officials were stupid in allowing West Ham to get away with the Tevez affair? View the article ::

More importantly, what's happened to the Prince(Boateng).
His name hasn't been mentioned by Jol and he is not in the squad...does anyone know????
The same thing happened with Santini. He never played Carrick as it was Arnesen's signing. Jol came in and played him and he became a vital part of Spurs.
Watch Boateng become a Spurs sensation once Jol get's sacked!!
Are you sure about "incompetent"?
BMJ has took us forward leaps and bounds, but at the same time, had an awful lot of cash to do so.
No other man in charge has had that sort of war chest at their disposal, so realistically progress was expected. After 5th two seasons in a row, the board have spent further and rightly expect a return on ther investment.
Don't get me wrong, I am a big BMJ fan - but given a choice of keeping with 5th place, or battling it out with the top 4... I know what I go with.
Yes, it is early in the season, but with other sides also heavilly investing, we need to continue our progress.
The reason why unfortunately I do not see Mr Jol progressing us further is not so much off the pitch, but, look at the games where we have made negative changes - obviously Chelsea last season is the big one that sticks out. Understood - we had another big game round the corner. BUT these players are getting paid BIG BIG bucks, they are finely tuned athletes, and I do not feel it was necessary to remov…
So all in all not too bad!!
Ok I am disappointed with this season's start, but it's early days and we have been missing most of the defence so far!
Remember Ferguson was at UTD for 5 years before he won anything...Jol has done better than him if you compare their first 2 seasons! It takes time to build a team that successful!!
Give Jol a chance..get behind the club …
Doesn't matter what's written on it or how extensively. On the day, it only matters what happens on the pitch.

The key to any side (football, rugby, american football, you name it) is a period of stabilisation to allow development. This is a function of many things, but most importantly, the manager, the money and the time frame. We have done very well over the last two seasons: magnificently relative to any of the last twenty bloody seasons. We are some way along that process.
There is for the first time, in a very long time, a sense of purpose and a style to MY team. This makes them the sort of side that I started to support, apparently according to my father (I honestly can’t remember) when Jimmy Greaves was signed. Over the whole time I've supported them (40+ years) this is the most excited I've been at the start of a season.
Disappointed though I've been about the reality of the start in result terms, they've still looked, in most games, a very good football side to me. (OK, except Everton!!!)
We …
I know how to tickle a few hits and have no shame in doing so. But adding to the p*ss poor media that suggest by snide rumour and gossipy trash that BMJ ought be binned after a handful of games is a load of c*ck & you boys need to sharpen your pencils.
This web/blog business ain't easy.
Everyone's a critic. But for the love of God, leave the mindless negativity to the morons at The Mirror and The Mail.
Cobblers like this isn't a legitimate catalyst for debate - it's devisive and worse yet ...LAZY.
