Any new signings?

Article by Jesse Johnstone

Spurs are known for late plunges into the transfer market just before the window closes, so will there be any late surprises this time round?

It's known that Martin Jol has asked for another centre back and a left winger. Curtis Davies looks to be on his way to Villa, which I find strange as he's said he would only sign for a London club as he misses the capital.

Martin Jol is a keen admirer of Blackburn's winger, Pedersen, but Mark Hughes has rebuffed all attempts by Spurs.

I hate to bring this up again, but could the lack of any new faces mean the end of Martin Jol? If a new manager is lined up to take over at the end of the season, surely he would want his own players and not his predecessors.

Watch this space for West Brom's centre back, Curtis Davies, Blackburn's left wing king, Morten Gamst Pedersen, Pompey's Matthew Taylor and the departures of Defoe, to either Manchester United, Portsmouth, Aston Villa or Chelsea, with Murphy going to either Derby, Sunderland, Birmingham or Fulham and Ghaly probably going to Middlebrough.
