Talks have been ongoing since the morning, but as yet, Spurs are keeping tight-lipped about the whole affair.
It was apparently Frank Arnesen who tipped off Levy about Vieri becoming a free agent. Arnesen is still under contract at Tottenham, but has been relieved of his duties.
Vieri speaks fluent English as he was raised in Australia. If Spurs can land Vieri, it will surely prove that they are ambitious as ever.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is in talks with Christian Vieri's representatives after the cult Italian striker had his contract cancelled by Inter.

Heard it all before. Sorry to sound like a killjoy but until I see him standing next to big MJ holding up a shirt with his name on the back I am not about to even contemplate believing this.
until then we take it as just another summer press story to fill the pages
Vieri is past his best lets not waste wages on him.
Also Mido i love the guy but if preason does not cause him to lose wieght its time to terminate his loan.
same goes for Andy Reid lose wieght or go on loan. Pointlees keeping him and not allowing younger fitter players who can track back to get a chance. Regardless of his shooting ability.
Experence rubs off
I could not stand the thought of this over paid, "has been" comming in and taking the place of one of our younger future stars only to see the cart-Toons (carot crunchers) or the scum benifit by picking them up on the cheep.
No lets stick to what we started, give the young lads a chance to prove themselves. When and i do meen When we win the title in two years time we can enjoy it all the more.
And I don’t mind good start that did not cut the mustard when they moved from their first club to a bigger.
i.e. Viera and Bergkamph.
But players like Veiri are trouble he is lazy and slow and the only thing our younger players would learn from him is how to cause disruption in the dressing room. We have been plagued with dressing room discontent for a good few years why get players that will upset the balance now this area is fixed.
As for young under 25 yes good idea as the older Birts are way over priced. But I don’t want to see under 25 brits as our only signings if we want mid table finishes they are fine but to start challenging for a place in Europe we really need to bring in some proven quality.
Granted we won’t get any super start yet. But lets buy the better players, we were previously linked with Emre I cant believe we are not going to get him he plays on the lef…
next year
What makes a great player? Attitude & learning to apply themselves. He can have all the talent in the world, but without a right attitude and application, he'll end up like Kanoute or someone similar.
Vieri is world-class. Lets not forget that. So what if he's 31. He'll have at least 2 great seasons in him.
Get a grip. I have seen this man play for his country and for Inter and he is a natural striker. He is big, has quick feet, is packed with talent and can find the net.
Remember people used to slag Ginola off before he arrived at the lane but he proved them wrong and Vieri will do the same if we can get him.
keane....
vieri??.... (maybe)
We have linked with just about every player that shows a sign of wanting to leave their respected club in recent months..
I swear Martin Jol plays Champ manager, a bit of advice to him would be to return to the real world and stop chasing these world class players (Rosicky, Shevchenko) that are not even going to consider joining us whilst we cant even get into Europe!
Stick with the young lads and lets build a team to be proud of!!
Secondly we were only linked with players like Rosicky and Vieri because A. Rosicky was unhappy at Dortmund
B. B.Dortmund is struggling financially so they needed the cash.
C. Vieri has been well known to be unhappy at Inter and Spurs are always first to be linked with just abot n e one :)
