Keane For Harewood???

British tabloid, The People, has stated this morning that Tottenham and West Ham are in talks about swapping Robbie Keane for Marlon Harewood.

I really do hope that the newspaper added this story so as to fill its space. There can’t be any truth in this story can there?

I am sure that Keane wouldn’t be interested in a move to our feeder club. And then there is the sweet case of Harewood’s outstanding talent……yeah right! I watched some of West Ham's matches last season in which Marlon had trouble hitting a barn door.

What do you think? Is this story real? If so, would we welcome Harewood over Keane?

  1. Keane for Harewood? that sounds like a David Pleat idea. I think it is time for keane to move on, but why would he go to west ham? and why would we want harewood? Carlton Cole or Andy Johnson would be risky, but at least they have premiership experience. Harewood is barely a championship player!!!

    This must have been a last minute story added to fill up column space. No other paper has mentioned it.
  3. The Irons made an enquiry about Keano, offering Harewood in return. We, out of courtesy and knowing Robbie is at least considering 'moving on', didn't immediately dismiss it out of hand = The People's 'shock' story.

    No regular football = even more desparate, so-called, 'journalism' than normal.

  5. PS: I too watched Harewood a number of times last season; and have no desire to see him at Spurs in anything other than an opposing strip - or, if he's a fan, and it truly is his dream to be at Spurs, perhaps a steward's jacket...
  6. I'd love to meet the person who made this rubbish up. I seriously think he's doing it for a joke. If you read the Spurs website no mention of Jol at training, hopefully he's with Levy conducting a transfer and not a player from our feeder club, laughable isn't it.

    I think it would be too risky on our part to let him go to them.
    I can see them challenging us next season for a euro spot and it would be typical if Keano scored the goal that took them into Europe and kept us out

  16. West ham will struggle next season, with or without Keane, and no, I cant imagine any reason he would want to go there. As for Harewood Ha .... Ha, he really is barely a division 2 (sorry championship) player. I could make up better rumours than the People, how about Andy Reid in exchange for Crouch, at least we would be getting the inches in height rather than girth!!

    Harewood is a lazy fucker who gets thte ump like a 5-year-old and Keano on his day is quality. I think we forget how good he was a couple of seasons back, he practicly carried us through the season. Plus he scored quite a few goals off the bench last season. It's Kanoute we should get rid of and that fat bastard Mido, get in some big fella and keep robbie.

My cousin is on the staff at Wolves, she works for the head of a department there (I'll say no more as she doesn't want the sack!)..but take it on good authority Robbie Keane is on his way back to the Molineux, Glenn Hoddle has already been in talks with both player & agent and depending on other player moves & a few personal details etc expect Keano to join up with the squad just prior to the new season.He still has a lot of friends at Wolves.
