Tottenham Get Their Way

After all the haggling and dealing, Tottenham supremo, Daniel Levy, finally walked away from the conference room with his head held high.

Frank Arnesen, Tottenham's Sporting Director, may be heading to Chelsea, but Levy has gained the upper hand. With the two clubs arguing for what seemed an eternity, they finally came to an agreement late on Friday night.

The deal is simple. £6 million poundsstraightt up, with another £100,000 per year for the next 4 years. With Chelsea happy in paying that tidy sum, Levy had to protect his other assets, the players Arnesen brought into the club.

Here are some of the criteria set by Levy:
  • No Chelsea representative, be it local or freelance, can have any contact with a Tottenham player whilst still under contract.
  • A fee of £6 million GBP to be paid by 01.07.2005 with an additional 4 yearly payments of £100,000.
  • Arnesen is prohibited to go after any transfer targets Tottenham hlabeledlled as targets within the next 4 weeks.
  • Frank Arnesen's contract with Tottenham Hotspur will be cancelled on 01.09.2005 (after the transfer window closes), and will not be seen with any members of the Chelsea staff, be it local or freelance.
  • Any breach of these terms will result in an official complaint to the F.A. & Premier League and will be followed up with a Civil Case.
  • A copy of this contract will be sent to the appropriate parties at the F.A. & Premier League.

Players like Ziegler, Carrick and the pair signed from Forest, Reid and Dawson, will be off limits to Arnesen or any other Chelsea representative.

If any Tottenham player is caught near a yacht, a posh London home, or seen in a restaurant with anyone slightly connected to Chelsea, then the deal would be broken.

The contract signed between the two parties has also been sent to the Premier League and the F.A. The three points can still be deducted if Chelsea decide to play games.

Arnesen's transfer fee will be used on new players according to a source at White Hart Lane. Hopefully Robinson's call for 3 quality players will be answered.

All new transfers will be conducted by Levy, and Tottenham head-coach, Martin Jol, until a successor to the Dane is drafted in.
