Spurs Turn Down 4.5 Million WBA Bid

Tottenham Hotspur have rejected WBA's 4.5 million offer for Frederick Kanoute.

Albion manager Bryan Robson originally enquired if Kanoute could join his nearly relegated team on a season-long loan. After the Spurs head coach, Martin Jol, refused that offer, WBA came back and tabled the 4 million plus deal.

A spokesperson for Spurs said: "We can confirm that we have rejected a bid from West Brom for Fredi Kanoute."

Kanoute, not always a fans favorite, was used as a key figure in Jol's "Little & Large" striking partnership, with Kanoute being the target man.

It seems as though Spurs are holding out for at least 6 million.

That figure may price Albion out of the race to sign the large Spurs front man. As they already have a tight transfer kitty, spending nearly all of it on a player that doesn't score many goals would not seem like a viable solution to Robson.

Many fans had hoped that Spurs would have accepted the bid, as Kanoute is one of the most annoying players around. He is the type of player that can look world-class and score some amazing goals.

Unfortunately for many Spurs fans, this doesn't happen a lot.
