Spurs should suspend and not pick Bissouma

It certainly looks like Spurs have a super bunch of youngsters coming through and one, Bergvall, has adjusted so fast that Yves Bissouma and James Maddison will have to step up their games to retain a place.

I remain convinced Bissouma is massively overrated and is not a defensive midfielder. He should be playing further forward where he can affect play in a positive way, rather than a negative way.

How we play puts pressure on that position and both Gray and Bergvall have made errors playing there.

To handle a high press you need a clear head.

You need to remain calm and make calculated decisions to work your route out.

However, if you have not done enough mental training with a sports psychologist, then the same problems are going to reoccur.

Anxiety causes panic decision and falling back on your default setting.

For several of our players, Emmerson Royal was one, passing backwards is the answer.

In other words, these players want time on the ball to make a decision. They can play football if they are allowed time to do so, hence a player can look good against opposition who do not effectively operate a high press and struggle against those who do.

Bayern Munich exposed the same move in both games.

A set move, that everyone has seen how to beat.

I expect better solutions and I question some of the decisions Vicario makes with his passing.

Spurs are so insistent in passing to a right-sided centre-back, who with a high press is immediately under pressure.

I appreciate this is a risk reward stregy, but should the risk be taken higher up the pitch?

If you are not clinical, then we are simply increasing the opportunity to lose.

Various of our forwards need to improve their finishing and their final ball.

Sonny needs to be sold next summer while we can still command a fee for him because he powers are waiting, he is in his 30's.

That money can then be used to help rebuild further.

Latest singing: Dominic Solanke.

Next summer will be the 5th window and when the squad should be largely assembled for trophy pushing.

Yves 'Idiot' Bissouma

Well, well, well... Tottenham midfielder Bissouma admitted he showed a "severe lack of judgement" after he was recorded inhaling nitrous oxide.

Nitrous oxide is now a Class C drug under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, making possession and sale for recreational purposes a criminal offence.

Possession of nitrous oxide, where a person intends to wrongfully inhale it for a psychoactive effect, is an offence.

Those caught with nitrous oxide for unlawful use face a caution, community service or an unlimited fine.

If you think this guy has the right mentality, you are nuts, no wonder I think he is massively overrated and defends poorly.

Seems like an appropriate time to put a link in to a previous article: Postecoglou tells supporters they get the wrong end of the stick.

I would have sold him and replaced him this summer, he should go next summer if we can't offload him now.

I'll go back to my mantra, this would not be happening if it was a compulsory part of training to have regular sessions with a sports psychologist.

You do this because you are bored and you're seeking a thrill.

He needs to be dropped from the first game if he is still here and made very plain to him why. It also needs to be made plain that it will not be an easy road back.

Anything less and you're condoning it.

It is an atrocious example to set our youngsters and shows total irresponsibility.

Some role model he is to them and children everywhere.

It is inexcusable and Spurs need to take a stand.

Fine him the maximum two weeks wages, but suspend him for those ttwo weeks too.

That gives everyone else a chance to cement their place ahead of him.
