Postecoglou vs Fans

Now I am loving the new boss as many fans are.

I didn't know him, was amazed we went for him, but having done extensive research since, he seems an ideal fit if his thoughts and playing style can succeed at Premier League level.

There is no reason why they can't, given Australia's performances in the group of death at the World Cup where every game was a hard-fought defeat against far superior opposition.

They then went on to beat South Korea in the Asian final, where Heung-min Son scored a last-kick equalizer to take the game into extra-time only for former Spurs kid Massimo Luongo to grab the winner, a player he had personally sourced, scouted and convinced to play for his young Australian team.

Anyway, this article is what Postecoglou says with his winning mentality vs what fans say with their average mentality.

Postecoglou:

"You can not mould one thing into every organisation I like to walk into a place and try get the feel of the place for myself too and that effects my decision-making rather than relying on what has happened in the past.

"Whenever you get a new role there is never a shortage of opinions of what is wrong and what is right and what needs to be fixed but all those things are my responsibilities.

"You can't judge other people on what they say or what they do until you walk in their shoes. I walk to this challenge fully understanding and looking forward to embarrassing it my way."

You can't judge other people until you walk in their shoes, to understand their perspective and the challenges they face, yet fans do all the time.

Let's ask Heung-min Son why a section of our fans have got it so wrong.

Sonny on maintaining a positive outlook in hard times:

"We all want to have success, but sometimes success doesn't come, like a tunnel, sometimes it is dark and you don't see anything.

"But you could see, always in font, you can see the lights, the bright light. I always want to go through to see the bright lights.

“The hard time, obviously will be more than the success time. But I think the hard time makes you stronger.”

That's what successful people do, are the anti-cluster our fanbase doing that?

Clearly not, so clearly they don't know how success is achieved. Both Postecoglou and Sonny know better than them, as do I. LOL

Our first opportunity to put his attacking methodology into practice was extremely encouraging, for all but a few dies hard anti-Spurs folk.

If you didn't see any light at the end of a tunnel, then you're either wearing sunglasses or your blinded by hatred, those scotomas I regularly mntion.

My first encounter of these scotomas was from a very expensive senior level only training program put together by Brian Tracey for ICI and other majoe companies.

The positive mindset, with hope and optimism, is always something you must return to, particularly during dark times, as it is only that which will get you out of them.

Understanding your club, understanding where it is, how it fits in, understanding how trophies are won, seeing the path can only give optimism, if you are ready for success mentally.

If mentally you have turned out the lights, if you pretend there is no light at the end of the tunnel, you need to seek help. A psychologist could help, but if you refuse to help yourself, how can you possibly complain if a player does the same as you?

That whole culture needs a change, optimism says Ange Postecoglou is the man to do it.

So to wrap up today, let's look at these two quotes and the valuable life lessons that can be applied to supporting your club as well.

I'll break it down:

"We all want to have success, but sometimes success doesn't come, like a tunnel, sometimes it is dark and you don't see anything. But you could see, always in front, you can see the lights, the bright light. I always want to go through to see the bright lights."

This quote is all about perseverance and optimism. It acknowledges that achieving success is not always easy; there will be challenging times that feel like you're in a dark tunnel.

However, successful people keep their eyes on the bright light at the end of the tunnel, the ultimate goal they want to reach. It's about maintaining hope and staying focused on the positive outcome, even when things get tough.

“The hard time, obviously will be more than the success time. But I think the hard time makes you stronger.”

This quote emphasizes the importance of learning from difficult times. In life, you'll likely face more challenges and setbacks than moments of success. However, these tough experiences are opportunities for growth and development. They can build resilience, character, and strength.

So, as a Tottenham fan supporting your club, you can take these lessons to heart:

Lessons

Stay Optimistic:

Even when your club faces tough times, remember to focus on the ultimate goal and believe that brighter days will come.

Persevere:

Support your club through thick and thin. It's easy to support a team when they are winning, but true fans stick with their team even during challenging periods.

Learn from Setbacks:

When Tottenham face difficulties, try to understand the reasons behind them and what can be done to improve. Embrace these tough times as opportunities for growth.

Show Resilience:

Just like the players on the field, fans can also display resilience in the face of adversity. Support Tottenham with unwavering dedication.

Enjoy the Success:

When your club experiences success, savor those moments and celebrate with fellow fans. Cherish the journey and remember the hard work that led to those victories.

By adopting this mindset, you can be a dedicated and positive fan who supports their club through all the ups and downs of the journey.

Remember, the joy of victory is more meaningful when you've experienced and overcome the challenges together.

Ta'ra for now.
