Tottenham Transfer News

Micky van de Ven

Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, Barcelona, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus have all made contact with representatives of Dutch centre-back Micky van de Ven.

The 21-year-old (22 in April) VfL Wolfsburg left-footed centre-back is thought to be available for a minimum of €30 million, according to German outlet Sport Bild.

He has extended his contract this month until 2027 so would cost top value but if he is good enough it is still a cheap price for a player with plenty of years ahead of him and the potential to grow in value.

There is no release clause in the Dutch U-21 international's contract with the Bundesliga club.

Van de Ven displaced Maxence Lacroix, mentioned as a Tottenham target last summer.

According to another German outlet, Kicker, Wolfsburg had seen Stuttgart's Hiroki Ito as a possible replacement for Micky van de Ven.

"If at some point a really good team comes from Spain or England, then I will think about it.

"For me, it was always a dream to play in the Bundesliga. But playing in the Premier League is also a dream of mine." - Micky van de Ven

Julian Brandt

Tottenham are desperate to sign in-form Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Brandt, as are Arsenal suggests Sport Bild.

Borussia Dortmund are looking to extend his contract beyond 2024, but he will of course know about our strong interest.

Fans who think clubs don't contact player's agents all the time asking for availability, the views of the player joining and on what possible terms, are on a different planet.

Brandt has told friends of his that he would like to play in the Premier League they report.

The 26-year-old (27 in May) attacking midfielder joined Borussia Dortmund from fellow Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen for €25 million in 2019.

Since then, Brandt, who has 39 German international caps, 3 goals, 3 assists, has made 159 appearances for the club, scoring 29 goals and providing 30 assists.

Borna Sosa

Also from Sport Bild is news that Tottenham have joined the likes of Real Sociedad and Sevilla in the race to sign Stuttgart's left-back Borna Sosa.

The 25-year-old (26 next January) dual citizen Croatian international (13 caps, 1 goal, 1 assist) has started 60% of his clubs' games and been involved in 28% of their goals.

Sosa is said to be keen to leave the Mercedes-Benz Arena at the end of the season, having had a €10 million bid for him from Bayer Leverkusen turned down in the January transfer market.

In an interview in February, Sosa said:
"Every player sets goals in his career, and I want to play in a team that is represented in Europe if possible. But the move to Leverkusen didn't work out and that's the end of the matter.

"But I feel very comfortable at VfB, I've been here for almost five years now. I want to help achieve our goals. The fact that I have stayed in Stuttgart is not a problem for me."

He as asked specifically about joining the Premier League.
"Like many players, I dream of playing in the Premier League one day. It's the strongest league in the world. The other teams besides the big six top clubs are also strong."
