8 Player Spurs Transfer News

8 Player Spurs Transfer News

Nice of you all to return, this time for 8 Player Spurs Transfer News.

The game of football around Europe has still not financially recovered from Covid.

Too many clubs were living to the max of their means, or beyond and Daniel Levy was right when he said the game was unsustainable the way clubs were operating.

Tottenham was built on a different model, a sustainable model, everything Spurs do makes a profit and that is what pays for the football team.

The anti-Levy crowd can complain all they like but it is the way a football club should be run, as a going concern.

The business side of things should be developed to bring in hundreds of millions, as it does with the stadium now and money should be made away from football.

The Internet is the Golden Egg, it is where anyone can make a million, but it takes a bit more than the average person is prepared to put in and I am talking effort here, not money.

Few are prepared to learn the skills required, few put enough into the planning stage and have everything mapped out, few have the perseverance, they want everything now.

Football is a bit like that, few have the patience or the understanding to appreciate turning Tottenham into winners on the pitch takes time as the wrong mentalities have to be removed over time and the right mentalities introduced, within the sustainable Spurs model.

You repair a piece here, a piece there until you have something that you can then keep adding quality to.

Fabio Paratici has opened fans eyes to the real world.

He negotiates outline deals with players and agents, several for the same position and then within a financial budget creates a jigsaw of deals to achieve the end goal.

That jigsaw of deals has to change if a player can't be signed or if a player can't be sold or is sold for less than is ideal.

The complication now is that everyone wants an initial loan deal with an option to buy if the player is successful, so a no-risk transfer policy.

Paratici is no different, he operates in the same way, Romero, Bentancur, Kulusevski were all brought in on initial loan deals.

Clubs in Europe have had to readjust, had to lower wage bills and sell players to make ends meet.

Tottenham continues to try and take advantage of that.

Atlético de Madrid are in serious financial trouble, Juventus have had to offload high earners since Covid, Inter Milan are having to wheel and deal their way out of trouble.

Developing young players and selling them on is a necessity for a lot of clubs in Italy, Spain, Germany and France.

Arguably Monaco and RB Leipzig are two of the best at it.

In Italy, the Juventus president, Andrea Agnelli and his board have resigned, including vice-president Pavel Nedved.

That places them in turmoil ahead of the January transfer window and could cause unrest among the players with some maybe looking for an exit.

It appears they have tried to trick authorities over salary payments and Napoli are looking to use a legal loophole around salaries to avoid paying some extra tax.

Anyway, let's start our Spurs Transfer News today in Spain with LaLiga side Atlético Madrid.

João Félix

Tottenham are reportedly interested in Atlético Madrid second striker João Félix.

The expensive purchase from Benfica has fallen down the Diego Simeone pecking order and has become frustrated.

He seeks a way out, the club seeks a way out and the aforementioned loan with option to buy is what everyone interested is looking at.

I have no idea how serious Tottenham are or whether our name has simply been thrown at the story, given past interest.

The story does come from Italy of our interest so could well be genuine, with the Italian press knowing more about our business than the domestic press, thanks to Paratici and Conte's links there.

Sofyan Amrabat

Anyone
who followed the Tottenham Summer Transfer Window with Tottenham Hotspur Blog News (THBN) will know Antonio Conte wanted Moroccan international (40 caps, 2 assists, 6 yellow cards) Sofyan Amrabat last summer, but an attempted Fabio Paratici deal for him fell through.

He plays in Italy for Fiorentina and has been a standout player for Morocco at this World Cup so far.

Amrabat is a player most will not have known and had he signed another player the anti-Levy anti-ENIC smattering would have complained about, just as they did with Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski.

Both have shown you don't have to be a name to be a player and you don't have to cost £60m+ either.

Naturally, Spurs have continued to track the 26-year-old (27 next August) defensive midfielder whose contract expires in 2024.

Incidentally, the last two posts have been a 15-player January transfer round-up and a suggested 10-year plan to use Ronaldo to grow the club and bring in £100m.

You can read those at the links below, they open up in new windows.

Joško Gvardiol

Ivan Perišić is trying to convince fellow Croatian international Joško Gvardiol to join him at Tottenham in the summer.

The 20-year-old (21 next January) RB Leipzig centre-back is a wanted man by the top clubs in Europe.

Apart from Chelsea, Juventus are monitoring him for a summer move.

Inter Milan are interested but they want to keep Alessandro Bastoni and Milan Škriniar, who fully expects to stay at the Italian club now.

Josip Šutalo

Spurs are taking an interest in 22-year-old (23 next February) Dynamo Zagreb and felloCroatian international Josip Šutalo.

Andreas Skov Olsen

Another name on the Tottenham radar is 22-year-old (23 in December) Danish international (24 caps, 8 goals, 6 assists) midfielder Andreas Skov Olsen.

Olsen plays on the right side of midfield for his club and clearly has some attacking ability.

He has developed with Club Brugge this season but plays for Denmark as a right-winger.

Pierre Emile Højbjerg will be able to tell Spurs all about him.

Italy

Robin Gosens28-year-old (29 next July) left wing-back, Roberto Gagliardini28-year-old (29 next April) central midfielder and Denzel Dumfries26-year-old (27 next April) right wing-back are available in January.

Juventus and Chelsea are interested in Dumfries while Inter Milan are following the situation of 25-year-old (26 next August) Borussia Mönchengladbach striker Marcus Thuramwho is available for €10m.

Thuram is available on a free transfer at the end of the season so is in no rush to make a decision over his future.

Real Madrid are interested in 27-year-old (28 next February) Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

France

The world's best player of his generation, little Lionel Messi, appears to be off to the MLS and David Beckham's Inter Miami at the end of the season when his existing contract with French giants PSG ends.

Ronaldo

CBS Sports are reporting that Al-Nassr are offering Ronaldo $75m per year (£62.73m) to sign a 3-year and play his football with the Saudi Arabian club.

His ideal is to sign for another big European club so perhaps Spurs should put together a 10-year package as per my earlier post.

His name and marketing potential off the field is as big as there has ever been. It would be criminal for that to be wasted.
