Spurs Summer Transfer Window Day 72

It's Saturday, it's matchday and it's an air show this weekend with the Red Arrows on Spurs Summer Transfer Window Day 72.

As you probably all know Heung-min Son was 'allegedly' racially abused by Chelsea supporters with a picture of one of them even using his fingers to press the skin around his eyes to give a 'pointy eyes' look.

Chelsea have made an official statement that does not correspond with their previous actions only last year when we played them.

"Chelsea FC find any form of discriminatory behaviour totally repugnant. They have no place at Chelsea, nor in any of our communities. We have consistently clarified the zero tolerance position, yet there are still idiots like this who latch onto society as" fans ", putting Chelsea FC and their coaches, players and staff as well as their true supporters to shame. We are investigating the incident and, if identified, this person will face the club's toughest action possible."

Really, what action did Chelsea take against the club employee who posted the gas reference tweet last season when we played Chelsea?

Answer, none.

Where was the 'zero tolerance' there?

So what they are saying is it's OK for Chelsea employees to use discrimination but not the supporters.

Chelsea will punish supporters but not employees.

Zero tolerance only applies to fans who can be seen on TV.

A 'zero tolerance' image is better than a 'zero tolerance' policy for all.

Without punishing the individual over the official Chelsea FC twitter account gas tweet, then this is just window dressing.

Ruslan Malinovskyi

The folk who knock me still read me everyday because they get information I research that they don't get elsewhere.

After being asked about Ruslan Malinovskyi I researched and wrote my initial piece.

For me it doesn't end there, as it does for others, no I continue to dig and keep an eye for related events that might give clues.

Your opening graphic comes from that digging, it comes from the wife (Roksana) of Tottenham target Ruslan Malinovskyi.

I'll explain it in a minute because it isn't the first cryptic message.

Spurs Summer Transfer Window Day 72

The first message from Roksana and it would appear Ruslan says:
"Guys, your messages break my heart. This is as unexpected for us as it is for you. But nothing has been decided and it does not depend on us please be patient. I cannot remain silent just because you are worried and I do not want this. You have to know the one thing: I never leave you. Bergamo is our home. But football life it's too hard. You never know what to expect. We love you! R&R "

OK, onto the second message that seems to be a farewell to the city of Bergamo for the pair.
"Guys, we bought our house in Bergamo two years ago, only now it's over but we moved. Slowly I'm running out of boxes. Bergamo is our home, we don't have another home, but football and life are united. For me there is nothing more important than family and of Ruslan's career. If he can't stay at Atalanta he has to find another solution. Of course it's a great sin for us, but it's life in football. He has to think about his future as a professional footballer."
So clearly Malinovskyi is being sold by Atalanta, but to whom?

Nottingham Forest put in a bid of £12.69m (15m - US$15.12m - AUS$21.87m) including bonuses, which was rejected, Marseilles are in discussions with Atalanta too.

Whether he is going to either of those two or whether Fabio Paratici has agreed something requires patience to see I'm afraid.

I suspect he isn't joining Tottenham but there are reports suggesting he has said yes to Spurs.

Malinovskyi is a Ukrainian international (49 caps) attacking midfielder who went through the Shakhtar Donetsk academy.

He has impressed everyone during his three years in Italy having reached 10 goals in all competitions for the past two seasons

He made a contribution to 17 goals last season during which Atalanta finished eighth in Serie A and reached the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals.

Atalanta want £18m for him after he had an argument during a pre-season game with his manager Gian Piero Gasperini.

Juan Foyth

Barcelona are about to make a bid of £25.38m (€30m - US$30.24m - AUS$43.74m) plus add-ons for former Tottenham centre-back Juan Foyth, who moved to Villarreal and has excelled.

On Wednesday, his representatives met the Blaugrana executives but Villarreal are reluctant to sell him.

Tanguy Ndombele

Whilst a purchase option price has been agreed with Napoli should they desire to buy him after his loan spell has ended next summer, there is a clause in the contract that allows a renegotiation of the purchase price.

Harry Winks

I see the press are painting the picture that Frank Lampard and Everton have decided not to pursue a transfer for Harry Winks.

However Harry Winks doesn't want to go to Everton, he doesn't want to join a team in financial difficulty who might be relegated this season, it simply isn't worth the risk.

Bournemouth are the latest club to enquire about taking the ex-England midfielder on loan but again they are a relegation candidate so not what Winks wants.

Sampdoria want him on loan but want Spurs to pay a large part of his reported £70,000 a week salary as the Blucerchiati have serious economic and financial problems.

Spurs vs Wolves

It's a Saturday Spurs are playing but we still can't get another 3pm kick-off as we are on TV again and start the game at 12:30pm.

The 2-2 draw at Chelsea was "a step forward" Antonio Conte felt after Spurs had extended our unbeaten run to 8 games (W5 D3).

Today's opponents Wolverhampton Wanderers (Wolves) have won three of their last four Premier League visits to Spurs, they won 0-2 last year.

Last season the Molineux club were the best 'outsider' away side in the league, winning seven, drawing two and losing eight.

However they lost to Leeds United in their opening game and only managed a draw at home against newly promoted Fulham to extend their EPL winless streak to 9 games (D3 L6).

It is their longest losing streak since their promotion after winning the EFL Championship in 2017/18.

Since they beat us at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last season they have only taken 4 points away from home (W1 D1 L6).

They have only scored one goal in their opening two fixtures against sides they would have been hoping to take points off after stagnating in the transfer market thus far this summer.

Wolves made two defensive errors to lose at Leeds and a lack of clinical finishing cost them against Fulham.

Raúl Jiménez has scored in two games that Wolves neat Spurs, including last season, but he is injured this time around and they have only won 29% of their games without him.

Harry Kane has scored five goals in our eight game unbeaten run, four of them in the first-half.

He is the 4th highest Premier League goalscorer (184), 3 behind Andy Cole (187) who played 183 games more than the England captain.

The last 19 games Spurs have been leading at half-time, we have won.

Dier, Davies and Sánchez played 6 games together last season and conceded 3 goals.

If Romero is out for a month, it looks unlikely that Spurs would allow
Sánchez to leave, even if he is unhappy with Antonio Conte.

With Cristian Romero possibly out for a month with a muscle injury and September being the start of two games a week with the UEFA Champions League group stages beginning, the Colombian centre-back is going to get some regular game time ahead of the World Cup in November, plus of course, a couple of internationals.

There are two South Koreans playing in the Premier League, our own Son Heung-min and Hwang Hee-chan of Wolves.

Both have one assist to their name this season, but no goals.

They have faced each other twice before, once in the League Cup, a tie Spurs won and once in the league, a tie Wolves won.

Let's hope it's our guy who comes out on top and opens his scoring account for the season.

Antonio Conte will be on the touchline after being fined for his involvement at Chelsea, Tuchel received a larger fine, over double and a one-match touchline ban.
