Spurs Summer Transfer Window Day 42

Spurs Summer Transfer Window Day 42

A jolly good morning readers, welcome to Spurs Summer Transfer Window Day 42 with the wonderful news that I saw the frog sitting in the pond with his head out of the water as I was topping it up with water in this heat.

Something simple but it always makes your day to know he or she, as there are a pair there, are defeating the prowling neighbours cat, who I haven't seen stalking for a bit.

I received a comment I read the first sentence of from one of the George's (the anti-Levy idiots) who showed himself up (wouldn't be a woman would it, far too bright for this guy) yet again by not understanding my simple explanation post yesterday.

These anti-Spurs clowns take something written, distort it and pretend it says something else to attack you with, but I'm not as dumb as this guy.

While the Guardian writes that Tottenham are considering Jessie Lingard, a geezer on social media says Tottenham are not trying to buy him, which everyone repeats as new news, so our imbecile latches on to that as gospel.

Old Romano once again showed himself to be a copy and paster self-made ITK in much the same way Goldilocks did.

Fair play to them but what they say ain't gospel. I don't claim mine is either but it is bloody well researched to give you a bigger picture.

To benefit, you need to read every day, well every day there is a post because the explanation pieces are important and it's nice to talk about subject others simply don't cover or don't have the same expertise or experience in.

My article yesterday DOES NOT say Tottenham ARE signing Jessie Lingard and I am amazed I have to explain this to one of these, undoubtedly male, imbeciles.

To suggest that is what the post says to abuse me is dishonest and totally incorrect, typical of these clueless children, unable to comprehend something as simple as this.

They do say you should write for an eleven year old, perhaps I'd better lower the age!

The article uses Jessie Lingard to explain a point and reports our genuine interest in having him on our list of options, the same as we have for every position at the club, indeed the same that every club has for every position.

It's how the football transfer game works, that's the job of scouting departments to identify them.

Right, now that we have wasted time explaining that which doesn't need explaining to a rational common sense supporter, but does it seems to the more imbecilic agenda driven anti-Levy fantasist, we can get on with today's piece.

I will congratulate these readers on trying to improve their intelligence level by reading this, Spurs #1 blog.

Now I saw someone suggesting that Davinson Sánchez was the back-up for Eric Dier, you must be joking.

The central centre-back is the one who controls the other two, he is the boss of the defence on the field.

That is not a role you can hand to a player who has the anxiety levels of Sánchez, a player who falls over if you get him on his left foot and turn sharply, as you'll unforgettably remember on more than one occasion.

Homegrown

The homegrown player Spurs want is James Maddison.

Leicester City do not want to sell but with no European football next season they will be in financial trouble unless they can bring in some money and reduce the wage bill.

This is the problem with investing and not getting the European income to keep your players, which is why Spurs couldn't invest when we reached the UEFA Champions League final.

I explained all this in a recent post, Leicester City are the proof.

They have to sell at least one player and they are trying to sell Tielemans, but nobody has bought him as of yet.

They refuse to negotiate for Maddison as naturally Rodgers doesn't want to lose him, but he wants to play Champions League football.

Spurs are hoping Tielemans' is not bought and Leicester are forced to negotiate a deal for Maddison, hence nothing will be firmed up on Jessie Lingard.

It is a waiting game for Spurs, it's a waiting game for Leicester too.

I wrote a post recently explaining the Spence homegrown situation, whereby we had to sign a homegrown players and it was determining what would be best and Spence was identified as having the least negative impact and potentially best impact on the squad.

Basically, it meant we could sign non-homegrown players in the other positions we wanted to make signings.

Just look at who we have signed and in what positions, plus their overall cost, then look at which homegrown player we could have bought instead and what they would have cost.

Jules Koundé

Sevilla Sporting Director Monchi is losing patience with Barcelona and Jules Koundé.

Like many a player, once they hear of Barcelona interest, they stall on all other deals and wait, the length of the window if necessarily, for a potential deal to go through.

Monchi is having none of it as he needs to do what is best for Sevilla and to that end he has told his centre-back that if Barcelona don't buy him shortly he will force him to a Premier League club.

Monchi needs the money in to make purchases of his own, which their targets are waiting on. This has a knock on effect down a chain.

Antonio Conte

While fantasists try to tell you Conte isn't happy and would be leaving in the summer, I told you the truth, he is very happy and is staying, which I did for months and months.

Well Conte was asked if he was happy and could he see himself staying at Tottenham.

“You know, football is always very strange, but in this moment I’m very happy to stay at Tottenham, I’m very happy to work with this group of players, to work with the club.

“We don’t have a problem and we are trying to create a great group also outside of the pitch with the club. In this moment, we have only one target: to go together in the same direction. I think we are doing well with Daniel and with Fabio.”

His fitness coach will have the squad super fit because the training session that was reported from South Korea, will continue throughout pre-season.

He is famous in Italy.

The games are almost a rest.

Nicolò Zaniolo

Fabio Paratici is in Italy dealing with sales and purchases and meets with AC Milan today to talk about Japhet Tanganga.

Whilst back home in Italy, he is talking to Sampdoria, Fiorentina and to Roma about 23-year-old (24 in August) Nicolò Zaniolo.

We have a genuine interest in him and I'm not one of these people who see a player have a major injury and say he is injury prone don't buy him.

Anyone can suffer a long term injury, it doesn't mean, as some seem to think, that they are going to continue to suffer injury, especially as in this case, when the player is young.

If he was 28 or 29 and had a history of injuries then that's a different matter, but a youngster, no.

Now, it seems I have to rote this for the amoebas to understand, genuine interest means we are exploring the possibility of something, not it is definitely going to happen!

Zaniolo wants Juventus, but they can't agree a fee with Roma, who now have Paulo Dybala. Juve's first choice is Álvaro Morata reports in Italy suggest.

Keep in mind yesterday's article which showed we only have one UEFA Champions League squad place available for a non-homegrown player, once Rodon is loaned out.

The club obviously keep an eye on the market and talk as you never know what opportunities will present themselves, now or for the future.

My personal opinion is that unless Juventus come up with the money Zaniolo will remain at Roma.

Italy

I'll go across to Europe and discuss Italy and what has been happening there as it helps give an understanding of our business and transfer windows in general.

Juventus are rebuilding, AC Milan are on a budget and plodding along (trying to sign Charles De Keteleare from Belgium side Brugge) while inter are dithering.

Juventus are rebuilding, hence Dybala leaving for Roma and De ligt being sacrificed as a player who could generate a decent income.

Bayern Munich bought De Ligt for 65m EUR plus bonuses and Juventus swooped, an overused term but not in this case, swooped for Gleison Bremer, the best defender in Italy last season.

As you all know, Bremer's girlfriend didn't want to leave Italy, well flat out refused so he needed to stay in Italy and Inter were favourites butt didn't want to pay more than 30m EUR.

They wanted to pay additional money through players, offering Cesare Casadel, 1 19-year-old midfielder, on loan.

Juventus simply came in with an offer of 41m EUR plus 9m EUR in difficult to achieve bonuses, like winning the UEFA Champions League.

Torino accepted, no player turns down Juventus, but Bremer was going to get 3.1m EUR wages plus bonuses from Inter and Juventus offered 4.5m EUR plus 1.6m EUR bonuses.

It was not a deal either Torino or Bremer could turn down so by Inter not selling Milan Škriniar to PSG or Alessandro Bastoni to us, they have missed out on their replacement and left themselves still needing to raise funds to pay the instalment payments on their loans.

Škriniar was the player who publicly said I don't want to leave Inter, which Inter wanted him to say to suggest he isn't available and thus keep his price high, but then quickly agreed a deal to go to PSG.

PSG couldn't agree a fee with quicksand Zhang continually demanding more money so PSG walked away.

Alessandro Bastoni has played the same media games.

Taking bonuses into account, Juventus have pocketed around 30m EUR from selling De Ligt and buying Bremer to add to Paul Pogba, Di Maria, with Morata and Leandro Paredes in the pipeline.

I say Inter are dithering, it's sales they are dithering with having brought in Gosens in January who replaces Perišić, plus Lukaku (£7.2m loan), Mikhitaryan (free), Onana (free), Asslani (£3.6m loan), Bellanova (£2.7m loan) and Correa (£21.24m).

Sales are Di Gregorio £3.6m and Gravillon £3.15m plus the three free agents leaving, Perišić, Arturo Vidal and centre-back Andrea Ranocchia.

But they have lost out on Paulo Dybala and Gleison Bremer by not getting the money in from player sales.

They are yet to bring in the money they need.

AC Milan have brought in 3 players, Brazilian right-winger Messias for £4.05m, right-back Florenzi for £2.43m and centre-forward free agent Divock Origi from Liverpool.

They have brought in £10.87m from sales and lost 3 free agents.

As you can see, there is no money for many a club in Italy and AC Milan are the champions!

The Italian market is a very good market to raid and Spurs will continue to search for players from clubs in financial difficulty to try and take advantage of any opportunities that may present.
