Summer Transfer Window Day 8

Summer Transfer Window Day 8

Good morning folks and welcome to the Summer Transfer Window Day 8 with Tottenham Hotspur Blog News (THBN), the #1 Spurs blog.

Yesterday I discussed the potential squad for next season, who MUST, not might, but simply has to leave, replacements, the homegrown situation, the non-homegrown situation and how this affects our transfers.

Read it here first, (Summer Transfer Window Day 7) then come back here to complete this article, as it follows on from that one.

I forgot to include (added a brief sentence) out of site out of sound Pape Matar Sarr, who of course we bought last summer and immediately loaned out.

He is an U-21 status player so does not have to be named in the Premier League squad and will be assessed pre-season, the same as Japhet Tanganga.

Like I said yesterday, we might not get a decent off for Davinson Sánchez and if we wanted to make further room for a non-homegrown player we would have to sell someone, hence we are listening to offers for the inconsistent Lucas Moura.

Juventus have made an inquiry for the 29-year-old (30 in August) right wing-forward under contract until 2024 and apparently been quoted €20m (£17.23m) the Italian press say.

Brazilian side Botafogo made an inquiry but Moura doesn't want to return to Brazil yet, there is more money to be made in Europe. He expects to return to finish his career there, possibly with São Paulo when his contract expires.

Moura has stated Tottenham want him next season, have asked him to stay and that he will probably be playing for Spurs next season.

If he isn't going to sign a new contract then we either sell him now to get a fee or a future window, or use him as a cheap squad player and let him leave for free.

At the moment though he appears to be a bargaining chip.

Richarlison

São Paulo wants Lucas Moura back at Morumbi and is monitoring his situation.

A spanner could be thrown into the works of a return in 2024 though.

Tottenham wish to sign Everton striker Richarlison, a fellow Brazilian and have offered two players as a bargaining chip, Harry Winks and Lucas Moura.

Everton's request to release Richarlison is, I believe, around £50 million (€58.05 million) and Spurs estimate that Winks and Lucas Moura, together, cost about £32 million (€37.15 million).

The rest of the amount would be made with a cash offer to Everton.

A decent bit of business for Frank Lampard that would give him a chance to shift a midfield player and use the money from that sale to strengthen elsewhere.

Recently, in an interview with ESPN, the executive director of football at São Paulo , Carlos Belmonte, opened the interview by talking about the real possibility of Tricolor making an attempt to repatriate Lucas Moura.

Their manager had previously confirmed that Moura's situation was being monitored in an interview with journalists Arnaldo Ribeiro and Eduardo Tironi.

“Look, feeding hope, I think it's very strong. In fact, what we have as a basis, by order of President Julio Casares, we are going to monitor Lucas Moura at every window.

"That is, we are going to call Lucas Moura. 'Hey Lucas, you're going to continue, aren't you, what's your situation?'

"From the moment he decides not to continue, at that moment, in England, then yes, we will make a proposal to bring him to São Paulo.

"It's São Paulo 's will, it's Lucas's will. You put the salary issue very well, but Lucas also knows that one thing is the reality of Europe, another thing is the reality of Brazil.

"So, we will monitor, and at the moment it is possible, we will make a proposal, and all the effort, to have Lucas in São Paulo.”

Giovanni Lo Celso

As reported previously, Tottenham want £25.81 million (€30m) for Giovanni Lo Celso and Villarreal are a way off that valuation, they want him on the cheap.

The Spanish have offered £16m (€18.6m) plus £5 million (€5.8m) in add-ons.

That is the trouble with trying to buy Premier League players so Spurs have offered the midfielder to Atlético Madrid where he is appreciated a lot report Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo.

We are interested in a couple of their players too and Diego Simeone has given the move a green light.

As per yesterday's squad discussion, Lo Celso has no place in Spurs squad thus has to be sold, Villarreal are counting on that therefore, having to be cheaply later in the window.

Spurs Fixtures 2022/23

As usual the leaked EPL fixtures were fake news, hence my not bothering with them but the official Premier League fixtures are now out and here they are.

Alessandro Bastoni

I don't care what quotes there are, what PR has been put out, Bastoni is very happy to join Tottenham.

However, Inter are unreliable, they go back on what they agree so you never know where you are.

We are still in negotiations and are doing everything we can to sign him ahead of any other centre-back.

Inter, as I have reported, are not willing to pay the asking price for Bremer, who has an agreement with his club that he can leave for a 'reasonable' fee.

e all know what these agreements are worth that are not written on a piece of paper, nothing and Torino simply want as much as they can get, they do have to replace him afterall.

Inter's purchase of Bastoni's replacement has not progressed thus Bastoni is still not allowed to leave.

That remains the situation.

Tottenham are talking to Bremer, who has most of the leading clubs chasing him.
