Tottenham Transfer Talk Sunday

Another day, another post about potential summer movements into Tottenham Hotspur, the only North London Champions League club next season (yes I wrote this on Saturday, in line with my positive outlook).

Everyone has recovered from the stomach problems that have been running through the camp since before the Burnley game.

Pierluigi Gollini will not be retained as back-up keeper, we want a homegrown replacement, something I have been suggesting pre Joe Hart as it allows us to sign more non-homegrown outfield players.

It's common sense to me and Fraser Forster is indeed a man I suggested so I'm delighted with the news below.

I believe Fraser Forster has agreed to join us and that we have offered the 34-year-old (35 next March) a 2-year deal with the option of a third.

It brings back memories of Brad Friedel who joined us when he was 40 and served us very well between June 3rd 2011 and the end of the 2014/15 season.

Who are we casting our eye over, well you have had three days of names so here is a fourth.

Borna Sosa

Borna Sosa is a 24-year-old (25 next January) Croatian international (5 caps) left-back (happy as a left wing-back) from VfB Suttgart seen as a potential replacement for Sergio Reguilón.

The competition for his signature is Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Chelsea, so you can see the Bundesliga man is highly rated around Europe.

Alessandro Bastoni

Alessandro Bastoni you all know about. He has two years left on his contract at Inter Milan who are expected to ask for more than €60 million for him.

He might be sacrificed to raise cash for other signings.

Conte's desire for him was first mentioned in the Italian press before finding it's way to our reporters.

Presnel Kimpembe

Presnel Kimpembe is a left-footed centre-back we have looked at, the 26-year-old (27 in August) is currently on a deal with PSG until 2024.

The French international has 26 caps and has started 76% of Lique 1 games this season.

José María Giménez

José María Giménez is a 27-year-old (28 in January) right-footed centre-back who we are keeping an eye on.

The Uruguayan international is an excperienced international player with 76 caps (8 goals, 1 assist) who has played 65% of LaLiga games for Atlético Madrid this season.

Mohammed Salisu

Mohammed Salisu is a 6’2" left-footed Ghanaian centre-back who has had an excellent season for Southampton.

The 23-year-old (24 next April) is aggressive (which we like in a defender) is athletic, combative and proactive and we all know I like proactive footballers.

Pau Torres

Pau Torres, as we all know to our cost last summer when he turned us down, wants Champions League football.

He is highly regarded by us and is seen by many as one of the best ball-playing defenders in Europe.

Gonçalo Inácio

Gonçalo Inácio is a 20-year-old (21 in August) left-footed centre-back playing in Primeira Liga in Portugal for Sporting, the club we bought Eric Dier from.

Inácio is an aggressive defender with the ability to anticipate attacking situations. He has a strong physical frame and has shown himself to be mentally strong thus far.

Being a good passer, you be delighted to hear he can play the long ball over the top (Alderweireld style).

Evan Ndicka

Evan Ndicka is a 22-year-old (23 in August) complete and well-rounded left-footed centre-back who has just won the UEFA Europa League with Eintracht Frankfurt.

His contract runs out in 2023 so may be open to a move, despite having secured Champions League football next term.

He is adept with the ball, physically brilliant, and dominant both in the air and in ground duels.

Djed Spence

We are fully expected to try and sign Djed Spence in the summer, regardless of whether Nottingham Forest make it into the Premier League.

It would just mean we have to pay more.

Piero Hincapié

Another left-footed centre-back under consideration is Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapié

Argentine newspaper Olé (via Futbol Ecuador) reports that Spurs, Arsenal, and AS Roma are the three clubs eyeing the Ecuadorian international (16 caps, 1 goal, 1 assist).

The 20-year-old (21 in January) played 61% of his sides Bundesliga games this season, 1,751 minutes.

João Palhinha

New reports in Portugal suggest the figure to secure João Palhinha would be around €30m (£25.36m - US$31.67m - AUS$45.05m).

The 26-year-old (27 in July) defensive midfielder has been on our radar for quite a while as you all must be aware.
