Tottenham Transfer Reports

Another day and another look at some Tottenham Transfer News and the Europa League final probably crossing two players off our list.

We'll start this little round up with a left-back from the Bundesliga.

David Raum

David Raum is a 24-year-old (25 next April) left sided wing-back for Bundesliga club 1899 Hoffenheim and the Germany national team.

He is interesting us because he is rated, on statistics, the second best wing-back in Europe's top five leagues, as you can see from the list produced by Whoscored.com.

Denzel Dumfries interests us for the right, as does Djed Spence and Filip Kostic (expected to remain at Eintracht Frankfurt for Champions League football now).

Other sources say he has 13 assists and 3 goals from 32 Bundesliga games so that graphic needs updating.

Both Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund have been linked with the German international (5 caps) who has just been selected for the UEFA Nations League internationals coming up, is under contract until 2026.

Yannick Carrasco

Over to Spain and the Atlético Madrid left-winger Yannick Carrasco interests us.

The 26-year-old (27 in September) is on Newcastle United's radar too and we were linked with him in January.

It is reported by El Chiringuito that Fabio Paratici has submitted an offer to the Spanish club and that he has a release clause of  €60m (UK£50.86m - US$63.51m - AUS$90.22m).

Release clauses in Spain are not transfer fees or how much a player is worth, but a figure to tie them to a club so that the selling club can negotiate a decent fee rather than letting a player go cheap.

Whenever a player gets a wage increase, he has to agree to his release clause being raised, which, under Spanish law, he has to pay himself to release him from his contract.

Evan Ndicka

The young central defender has been impressing for Eintracht Frankfurt again this season, making appearances in all competitions. Tottenham were linked with him last summer so he isn't a new name on the radar.

He has been a key player in their push for a European qualification finish in the Bundesliga.

The 22-year-old (23 in August) has been one of the most consistent performers for the German side this season, and has shown that he has the potential to be a top class defender.

Left-footed Ndicka is strong in the air, quick, and is comfortable on the ball., attributes Conte is seeking.

However Eintracht Frankfurt beating Rangers in the UEFA Europa League final, giving them Champions League football next season, may well mean he stays where he is now.

It must be three years since I wrote an article on the importance of having a left-footed centre-back playing on the left side.

Not only is it better for playing long balls, but it also means you can make tackles and interceptions with the correct foot, the stronger foot, instead of doing as so many do, try to cut a ball out with their right, when on the left.

It changes body shape, recovery time is longer, everything is more natural and that means performing that tiny bit better. Little things matter.

Matthias Ginter

Matthias Ginter is a free agent in the summer which means he can command a higher signing-on fee and higher wages.

Naturally Tottenham are not the only team chasing him, Juventus, Aston Villa and West Ham have been mentioned and again he is a player we tries to sign before.

The 28-year-old (29 next January) right footed centre-back is an experienced German international (46 caps) who plies his trade for Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Reports suggest he is looking to move on.

Nico Gordon Birmingham defender whose contract expires in 2023
Tottenham are stepping up their interest in Peterborough defender Ronnie Edwards.

He is regarded by many observers as one of the best young talents in the country and is a player David Pleat will advise us on.

🇮🇹 Alessandro Bastoni - Antonio Conte has been closely watching him and Inter would sell for the right price, which will easily be excess of £42.39m (€50m - US$53.01m - AUS$75.02m).

However Pep Guardiola is eyeing him up too.

Others on our list include: 🇳🇱 Sven Botman 🇩🇪 Nico Schlotterbeck

Like last summer we have a long list of potential players and will figure out the best deal for us as part of the transfer money jigsaw puzzle.

Sam Johnstone
Spurs have had an agreement for a while with WBA goalkeeper Sam Johnstone who will help our homegrown quota.

Paulo Dybala

Spurs have offered Dybala a £160,000 weekly contract for 3 years, which is more than the £120,000 he was asking Juventus for.

Paratici met with Dybala’s agent on 13th April and has been in contact since. Dybala's representatives spoke to Man City, Arsenal and Spurs.

We believe we have offered Dybala enough but Inter remain the favourites as he isn't yet convinced about leaving Italy.

Dybala and his team did like the project at Tottenham and Antonio Conte as manager of course, who later contacted Dybala personally.

Sergej Milinković-Savić

A player we are always linked with at Spurs Sergej Milinković-Savić, is apparently determined to leave Italians Lazio at the end of the season.

However, the 27-year-old (28 next February) Serbian international would prefer to stay in Serie A over a move to the Premier League say Il Corriere dello Sport.

The latest rumours suggest he has already bought a new house in Milan close to the stadium.

Another left-footed centre-back, who I covered last summer and revealed his weakness, is Barcelona's 26-year-old (27 in June) Clement Lenglet.

The French international (15 caps, 1 goal) has long been out of favour at Barca and doesn't feature in their plans moving forward. He is under contract until 2026 though.

Fraser Forster

I suggested before we signed Pierluigi Gollini and Joe Hart that we should consider Fraser Forster, being a tall keeper (6ft 7in - 2.01m), an England international and homegrown.

Now we are apparently considering signing the 34-year-old (35 next March) in the summer on a free contract.

That would give us two homegrown keepers in the squad allowing more non-homegrown players available to fill that role as outfield players.

It is common sense for me, send the youngsters out on loan to gain first team experience.

Antonín Barák

On the Tottenham radar is 27-year-old (28 in December) Hellas Verona attacking midfielder Antonín Barák.

The Czech Republic international (30 caps, 8 goals, 2 assists) only signed for Verona last summer but smaller Italian clubs must buy and sell to survive.

Reports in Italy say Verona want in excess of £16.95m (€20m - US$21.20m - AUS$30.02m) and that Atalanta are interested.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is available on a free transfer in the summer and it is a market we will need to keep a close eye on with expenditure on Romero and Kulusevski already lined up for the summer.

The money pit does have a bottom and we will raise some money through sales but by looking at free transfers and those with a year left on their contracts.

We can pick up quality players cheap, we just have to pay them decent wages and a signing on fee and perhaps a signing on fee to their agent too.

Roma midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is 33 (34 next January) and is another option for the creative role we are missing.

He has yet to sign a contract extension (been offered a two-year extension) which is interesting Spurs, Aston Villa, Inter Milan and Napoli.

I could go on and on wit transfer news there is so much of it at the moment but let's leave it there and wait for another day.
