Tuesday - let's talk transfer target

Dybala-de-Ligt

Morning folks, you are itching to see what I have to talk about today, aren't you.

Yes, of course you are.

You wouldn't be here otherwise would you.

While the January transfer window was not a window to buy to try an get Champions League this season, although that is the aim, it is important that the side develops to achieve it.

We are in the driving seat, we are the bookies favourites to get Top 4.

Odds to finish in the Premier League Top 4 (Bet365)
  • Man City 1.001
  • Liverpool 1.01
  • Chelsea 1.05
  • Tottenham 2.62
  • Man U 2.62
  • Arsenal 3.50
  • WHU 8.00
  • Wolves 26.00
  • Leicester 67.00
  • Brighton 101.00 w of you already do.

Paulo Dybala is very much on our radar, as he is a free transfer in the summer.

Juventus do not want to pay him more than £113,847-a-week (€134,615 - US$154,123 - AUS$218,067).

Dybala currently gets £130,110-a-week (€153,846 - US$176,141 - AUS$249,219) plus £32,528-a-week (€38,462 - US$44,035 - AUS$62,305) bonuses.

Total annual wage £8.46m (€10m - US$11.45m - AUS$16.20m).

Juve's offer is £5.92m (€7m - US$8.01m - AUS$11.34m).

His wages aren't a problem for us, add in a signing on fee and agents fees and he is a player we will be pushing hard to sign in the summer.

Naturally Paratici will not be waiting until then and has already made enquiries, he did so during the January transfer window.

He will be in regular contact over the coming months as he tries to convince him to join Antonio Conte at Tottenham.

When these players become available you have to try to sign them, you never will if you don't.

It is a defeatist mentality to suggest we shouldn't try.

Aim high.

The suggestion in Italy is than Juventus have decided on a new path of buying all the best young prospects while reducing the wage bill.

It is suggested they will therefore make big sacrifices with Paulo Dybala, Matthijs de Ligt and Álvaro Morata the names mentioned.

Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Liverpool and Real Madrid all want to sign the 22-year old (23 in August) Dutch international centre-back it's suggested and you can add the Tottenham name to that list.

The suggestion from Italy is that he would cost at least 60-65 million  and his salary is around 10.4 million gross including bonuses.

60m
£50.74m
US$68.70
AUS$97.20

Again, a wage Spurs can handle now, we couldn't 5 years ago without the new stadium.

Álvaro Morata also earns €10m per season and the 29-year old (30 in October) striker would cost around €35m.

The though is by releasing these three Juventus will have taken a huge chunk off the wage bill and have €100m to spend in the transfer market.

Perhaps there is a chance, with Paratici's good relationship with them to bring some players to Tottenham, with our interest also in Winston McKennie.

The 22-year old (23 in July) Nicolò Zaniolo is on their radar, as is 21-year old (22 on 18th February) Sassuolo striker Giacomo Raspadori and 24-year old (25 in September) Brazilian international centre-back Gleison Bremer of Torino.

Ina time of change, Juventus may provide us with further opportunity in the summer.
