Good morning to all you wonderful folk who read my blog and the not so wonderful who do too, funny lot.

If you listen to Antonio Conte talk about Giovanni Lo Celso, it is clear he wants to see more of him as he has been injured for most of his tenure.

He needs consistent football and we are willing to sacrifice him to get a player in we want, otherwise a loan is more likely than a sale, unless it is an offer that is advantageous to Spurs.

We have offered him to Juventus on loan (Juventus are in financial difficulty still) to compensate them if they sell us one of their players.

Obviously there are Spanish clubs looking at him, given he has been a success in LaLiga before.

I'm seeing reports saying Tanguy is happy at Spurs, like Adebayor he is happy with the money.

He is more interested in money than football and nobody is offering him anywhere near what he is on at Spurs.

My last post explained the financials of the situation and what it might cost another club to take him off our hands, which Simon Jordan then talked about.

The club are not feeding stories to the press as many of our fans seem to believe, indeed the club are being very careful with information that does get out.

I keep saying, despite what Goldy wants to tell you, that the money is there for Paratici to spend, but we do want at least 5 players over these next 2 windows, at least 5, preferably 6.

  • Adama Traoré appears to be one.
  • Dušan Vlahović another, but in the summer.
  • Franck Kessié is an option we have for the summer, Paratici has an agreement but whether he triggers it we will have to wait and see.
We are definitely pursuing 20-year old Charles De Ketelaere the Club Brugge and Belgian international (4 caps, 1 goal) forward (in addition to Vlahović).

You can ignore the Arsenal stories about Vlahović, he personally has no interest in Arsenal whatsoever and it is he himself who is refusing to even talk to them as he has firmly made up his mind to come to Tottenham and the club will sign him in the summer, you'll see.

The regurgitation websites and YouTube channels are talking about Gianluca Scamacca simply because one journalist made a suggestion.

This is how the industry works, one mentions something so they all then write about it, the regurgitation websites and Twitter accounts bring it up and all the noise gives something the credence it doesn't deserve, thus the rank and file lap it up as being true without questioning it.

Scamacca is a striker who is joining Fiorentina in the summer as a replacement for Vlahović, as I have mentioned before.

We are asking more than we paid for Steven Bergwijn which I don't see us getting so we'll have to see what sort of deal we can finally do. Ajax want him but like many clubs, they don't have the money.

People think Newcastle have got bags of money, but they haven't. The Premier League put a ban on friends, family and associates agreeing sponsorship deals, which is the way Manchester City were funded.

Newcastle want to try and get that ban lifted because that is the way they wish to finance Newcastle, through dodgy inflated sponsorship deals with friends basically.

There are limits by how much they can increase their wages budget in a season also.

There is talk of Bergwijn and Newcastle but if he wants to return to Holland for his family then that's where he'll end up I guess.

U really think u know everything about transfers n ur more or less wrong 75% time your wrong we don’t have the money for big signing in jan in summer yes we will jan we were never buying unless we sell just the same as most we had cash in this summer past but we p!ss it away like normal gil not anywhere near ready n needs out on loan Romero brilliant but he still has to agree to come at end of season no guarantees on that unless champs league football only thing we do have in our favour as we’re first in line but he could still go else where n I wouldn’t blame him if he did levy n co have ruined the club poch in the end mou nuno r all good mangers but got made to look like fools coz Levy’s involvement in transfers every manger or player that has delt with the Rat has said bad things about him or he’s tight or going back on his words if our squad was really good n won trophies year n year again he would heavy invest in squad but coz it doesn’t he doesn’t but stadium training ground etc…

    • I have to admit that I struggled to read and understand your comment. Nevertheless, if you were talking about about a massive boycott of games by the fans then I suspect you should realise that any momentum there may have been in previous seasons for those who don't appreciate what Levy & ENIC have done, and are continuing to do, for the club has largely dissipated. Not that he's particularly well-loved, but that more & more appreciate at least what he's trying to do and, to a certain extent, succeeding to.

      Only those very die-hard deniers of reality still fail to see that we're in a better position financially and as far as the all-important infrastructure goes so that we're prepared to ensure sustained growth on the footballing side. The Levy-out brigade are dwindling so seriously that only they fail to notice it - steeped as they are in their ability to overlook the reality visible to everyone not wearing those same blinkers.

  2. I want to believe you on transfers but as each day goes by in January it gets harder and harder. If we are bringing in 5/6 over the next 2 windows I would suggest that we have to get in probably 2 this January and there's precious little sign of that happening. Its all really disappointing. I know its hard to buy in January but I thought we would have made a statement for AC.
    As for Vlahović you seem certain we will have him in the summer even though he will cost a fortune and want big wages. Also the man is hot property throughout Europe and many other teams can offer good coaches but they will also be able to offer ECL. We may not even get into Europe if we don't improve the team this month.
    • Each day isn't a problem and it's clear the club are working to bring in players. All that matters is the situation at the end of the window, not half way through it. There is an international break coming up.
    • When you consider where we are in the table, especially if you take into consideration that we're there in spite of having played fewer games than those around us - some by quite a number, then you should come to the conclusion that one of the European slots is pretty likely even as we stand.

      If you further consider that where we are is composed of the time under AC as well as that under Nuno - and that was possibly some of the worst performances and results we've seen for many years - then it shows we can expect the remaining games to be performed at a higher level even than the average so far - which itself is indicated by our current position. Then you consider that Kane is just starting to get back into his swing - not his prolific self by any means yet - so better to expect from him as well as Sonny, who's been relatively poor even though he's never stopped working. Then that performances with neither Dier nor Romero have been below par.
