Tottenham Transfer Talk and Young Serie A players Spurs are monitoring

Matthijs De Ligt

Happy New Year to one and all.

Welcome to Tottenham Transfer Talk once again where today I'll bring a quick round up and list some youngsters you may not have heard we are tracking.

Fabio Paratici will be heading to Italy, he is always popping back and forth, to conduct negotiations with a variety of Italian-based players.

There are stories starting to circulate in Italy that if Juventus don't pick up form quickly that
22-year old (23 next August) Dutch international centre-back Matthijs De Ligt will start to look elsewhere.

I am not sure how accurate they estimation that Antonio Conte wants to pay the whole £126.37m (€150m - US$169.79m - AUS$234.58m) release clause to get his signature.

Readers all know Dušan Vlahović has told us he will sign for Spurs in the summer because he wants to work with Antonio Conte but we will pursue an outside chance of signing him in January, highly likely it will be the summer though.

Then there is Franck Kessié, who has also told us he will sign in the summer and whether we do will be down to Fabio Paratici.

Next comes the offer of a six-month loan deal for Lorenzo Insigne from Napoli. This one is not advanced, obviously he has options but we are looking to take advantage of the bad blood between him and Napoli.

Napoli have offered him a deal that is less than what he is on now and it is thought Insigne will therefore be moving to MLS (USA) and joining Toronto FC in the summer, from whom he has had a large offer.

Paulo Dybala is on our radar but he wants to stay at Juventus and they want him to stay too, but they need to get a manager to get them firing again.

Stefan de Vrij is another option for the summer, can't see Inter releasing him until then. The 29-year-old (30 next February) right-footed Inter Milan centre-back is under contract until 2023.

Dejan Kulusevski is being considered in January with Juventus still trying to sort themselves out finacially. La Stampa report that they need to raise funds and are willing to let him leave, asking £29.43m (€35m - US$39.69m - AUS$54.76m) for him.

Paratici has offered Juventus Giovanni Lo Celso as a swap deal and the Argentinian is happy with a loan move to Serie A.

He is being followed by many clubs and needs to stay free of injury, he seems to have been injured as much as Lamela used to be.

Alessio Romagnoli

26-year-old (27 on 12th January) left-footed centre-back Alessio Romagnoli is another player that Paratici likes.

The Italian international (12 caps, 2 goals, 1 assist) is the AC Milan captain whose contract is up in 2022.

Other Tottenham Transfer Talk

Tottenham are following the progress of OGC Nice Irish-Nigerian winger Deji Sotona.

Sotona recently turned 19 (Dec 7th), has reportedly been targeted by Chelsea as well after joining Nice from Manchester United.

The left-winger is under contract until 2023.

There are further reports linking us with 26-year-old (27 next August) Austrian international defensive midfielder Florian Grillitsch.

It is suggested he is unlikely to extend his Hoffenheim contract which expires in the summer of 2022.

As we know Paratici lines up several players and then makes his choice as he pieces together a jigsaw from the funds available to him and what he can raise from player sales.

Grillitsch would likely cost around £11.8m (€14m - US$15.85m - AUS$21.89m)

Joe Rodon is wanted by Premier League sides Brighton & Hove Albion, Leeds United, Newcastle United and Watford.
