Quick Tottenham Transfer Talk

Quick Tottenham Transfer Talk

Sofyan-Amrabat

Let's have a very quick post on Tottenham Transfer News, but first a little educational chat.

Now what I'm going to tell you, nay educate you about today is hypothetical, we'll say.

Take a selling club, let's call the Wolves, have a player another club want, but being loved by the fans, Wolves management don't want to be seen selling him immediately.

This hypothetical selling club then has to appease the fans, even though a deal in principle has already been agreed.

That isn't released to the press but a smokescreen month long battle, that isn't actually taking place, is released.

Wolves fans are then seeing that their club is doing all it can to hang on to their player and get the best price possible, while they buying club just sit and wait.

Fans are a gullible breed, they lap up anything a journalist tells them and believe it to be gospel, half of it isn't, half of it is just stories fed by agents and clubs for ulterior motives.

End of hypothetical educational piece, but you be well advised to bear it in mind when getting your information from journalists.

P.S. A club may not agree to release a player, even with a deal agreed, until they line up a replacement or replacements. Hint, hint.

I have talked to you before about how we should not do business with Mendes, Tottenham have done all we can, delays are not down to us and the stuff in the papers over money is bullshit.

Tottenham Hotspur will be signing Lewes starlet Ollie Tanner, an exciting left-winger for the National League club side.

He was with Arsenal youth before joining Bromley (a South London side, although it used to be simply in Kent) where he trained under Danny Mills and 4 years later joined Lewes.

He is a left-footed 19-year old (20 in May) Englishman who has spent the last two weeks training at Tottenham.

Spurs head of academy coaching, Chris Powell, went to watch him play for Lewes on Saturday, when Spurs submitted a bid.

Brighton had a bid rejected, Watford, Southampton and Norwich City have all also been following him with interest.

The task of finding and developing young talent is a never ending one.

The Sofyan Amrabat stories are true.

Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade was asked on the Sport Italia TV show about contact with Tottenham.

“We have had contacts with many teams. Our market, after the purchases we made, is designed only to try to please those who played less and he is one of them. He is strong and wants to play more. In his role there is Torreira and someone like him suffers if he does not play.”

Confirmation, not that it was needed, that clubs only really want to offload players that are not playing, meaning a very reduced market.

This deal would seem to be a loan deal to tide us over until the summer transfer window when we can return him to Fiorentina if he isn't a success.

Tottenham have offered Dele Alli to PSG and while Mauricio Pochettino would be happy to have him in his ranks, sporting director Leonardo isn't interested, but a move still looks highly likely for him.

Across in Portugal and an apparently well connected journalist exclusively reported that Tottenham had made a bid for a player all the top clubs are watching, Luis Díaz.

Luis Díaz is a 25-year old (26 next January) Colombian international (31 caps, 7 goals) left-sided midfielder or winger at Porto, who hold 80% of his transfer rights.

That makes negotiations more complicated of course, but apparently Paratici has made a bid of £37.64m (€45m - US$50.77m - AUS$71.15m) plus £8.37m (€10m - US$11.29m - AUS$15.81m) in add-ons and asked for an answer in 48 hours.

He'll have 2 years left on his contract in the summer and is being followed by Liverpool and Manchester United.

You can ignore all the stories about him turning down Spurs, that is complete fabrication, he has been sounded out by Paratici and would be open to a move.

Tottenham continue to discuss a transfer with Porto as of last night, regardless of what the clown on Twitter want to post.

Jack Clarke has been loaned out to League One side Sunderland for the rest of the season, which, given he joined Spurs from a Championship side raises questions why he was not able to secure at least a Championship loan.

“I can't wait to get started. I'm from this part of the world, so I know this is a massive club and what it means to the fans.“

Conte and Paratici have decided not to loan Japhet Tanganga to AC Milan this window and have informed the Italian club, which may therefore, see Joe Rodon go out on loan in the next few days instead.

Valencia have asked for Tanguy Ndombele on loan and the clubs have agreed, which means they would pay his wages as we insist the club taking him on loan do so.

However he still prefers a move to PSG who need to shift a midfielder to make room for him in their squad.

Of course if the situation were reversed then the dumb journalists we have over here would be saying Spurs have to sell to raise money!

How true to reports that Julian Draxler and Georginio Wijnaldum would make the move the other way on loan, I don't know.

Both want game time and are not getting it at PSG under Mauricio Pochettino.

Fully expecting Ndombele to be gone this window, if only on loan.

Alli and Ndombele moving out clears the way for arrivals, who will have already been agreed and are just waiting for all the cogs to finally click into place.

To demonstrate to you the crap Twitter accounts give you, The Spurs Express posted this about Bryan Gil, thus giving it the credence it didn't deserve (as I have posted before, he accepts he is in a transition year).

Regular readers know this is nonsense so may be amused by Bryan Gil's own response to the source.

Enjoy the real world here folks.
