Chat, game preview, transfer talk
Why tell me you run your own business and know how things work and then give an explanation proving you don't?That doesn't make any sense.
When you buy a player, and I have explained this several times before, he goes down in the book as an annual cost.
That is a part of the transfer fee, yearly wages etc, all bundled to make a yearly cost for each player.
As each season passes, you write off this cost, it is called amortisation.
For the benefit of Scottish Yiddo, he needs to go to YouTube and listen to Simon Jordan, the ex-owner of Crystal Palace, who also explains this from experience.
Thus we buy Tanguy Ndombele for a fee and having had the 'benefit' of him for two and a half years, his £54m transfer fee, not £65m as Scottish Yiddo claims, that included add-ons that he isn't going to achieve to activate, so his actual transfer value now is just £27m.
If we got the £25m our Scottish brethren suggested, the difference is just £2m, not the massive loss he claims.
That, in the real world, is how clubs operate, not as the Scot believes, so once again an anti Spurs fan is proven wrong.
Why do these people read my blog to try and have a pop when they haven't a clue what they are talking about, obviously to get educated!
We are sitting pretty in the table, unbeaten under Antonio Conte in the Premier League and all this supposed supporter can do is while about Nuno.
While these second rate tier 5 fans still have an agenda, they will never understand the game and never support properly, i.e. for more than 0.87% of a week (when we have 1 game).
The 90 minute per week fan is a waste of space, reveal yourselves so I can block you and concentrate on proper fans.
Take this transfer window.
The intelligent fan knows most players are not available this window and not the top players playing regularly with time left on their contract.
The anti crowd ignore that and pretend that proven fact doesn't exist.
Then we have the clubs we would want a player from holding out to try and prevent a player leaving (they have to give permission) or to try and increase the fee, as Wolves are doing with Adama Traore.
Again for the anti crowd those factors don't exist.
To sell a player means some one else must be willing to pay them the wages they want as well as satisfying our amortised value.
Without that you can't sell, yet the anti fan blames the club, without consideration that it might actually be the agent stopping a sale so their client can demand even more wages and signing on fee to earn the agent more commission.
Again all ignored, it doesn't fit the anti agenda.
Chelsea, that's who we are playing today so let's throw a few facts at you.
Chelsea are unbeaten at home in the Premier League since October, W3 D5 and that was the month of their last clean sheet to.
In their current unbeaten home run, the two victories they have recorded against teams presently outside the bottom three, saw the first two goals shared.
That would suggest that any win here might not be straightforward, even with Chelsea’s all-time head-to-head record standing at W76, D41, L55.
The record since then is won 3, drawn 2, lost 1.
Overall we have played 9 away games (same as Watford) and sit 8th in the away table, with all the sides above us having played more games.
Chelsea sit only 5th in the home league table, having won 5, drawn 5 and lost 1, they have drawn 4 of their last 5 home games, Tottenham sit 4th.
We can take positives into the game, which for me, has no bearing on the League Cup ties.
A solid defensive performance from what is basically two-thirds of a 2nd XI line up at the back and taking our chances will be the two determining factors.
Fingers crossed we can take something from the game.
Tottenham Transfer News
Valencia have asked to take Bryan Gil on loan which Antonio Conte will only permit if Paratici can't find clubs for Giovanni Lo Celso or Dele Alli.
Tottenham are looking for an English goalkeeper. It makes sense if your goalkeeper is sitting on the bench a lot, then why have them clogging up a non-homegrown slot in your squad, you can only name 17 in a Premier League squad.
To that end we are casting an eye over 6 ft 4 (1.94m) in Accrington Stanley goalkeeper, Toby Savin.
The ex-Everton youth is also being tracked by Southampton.
At 20 (21 in May) he is a player to develop for the future, something Conte is keen to do with the keeper position.
He has a 74.6% save rate and has 6 clean sheets from 16 games.
As he won't cost a fortune, the plastic supporters complain but top goalkeeper come through the lower divisions, they have to play to learn their trade.
Neville Southall went from Bury to Everton and he became the Welsh number one, a mighty fine keeper back when football was football.
Ray Clemence played for Scunthorpe (as did Ian Botham), David Seamen for Peterborough United, Joe Hart for Shrewsbury Town, Nick Pope for Harrow Borough, Welling United, Cambridge United, Aldershot Town, York City, Bury before joining Burnley and gaining 7 England caps.
Ben Foster had spells at Tiverton Town, Stafford Rangers, Kidderminster Harriers, Wrexham before joining Manchester United and being loaned out to Watford. He has picked up 8 England caps.
Current England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford had spells at Darlington, Alfreton Town, Burton Albion, Carlisle United, Bradford City and Preston North End before Sunderland sold him to Everton as the most expensive goalkeeper at that time, £25m rising to £30m.
The goalkeeping situation just shows how things can change in football, quickly.
We brought in Gollini as a future number one because Nuno was not convinced by Hugo Lloris, but Lloris has rediscovered his top form and new boss Antonio Conte likes him.
That means Gollini doesn't get to play so we'll see what happens in the summer.
We have been linked with a string of English keepers so the transfer policy for that position looks clear.
As I mentioned before, Steve Hitchen has been tasked with unearthing young English talent for the future, hence why we keep being linked with lower league English players.
Players like Keane Lewis-Potter, the 20-year old (21 in February) Hull City left-winger being tracked by Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Leicester City, Brentford, Southampton and others.
Hull City has a £30m takeover ratified by the EFL late on Wednesday this week so any transfers have been on hold.
If Spurs prise him away it will be with a loan-back for the rest of the season.
It is no surprise to you that Antonio Conte wants Tanguy Ndombele out of the club as soon as possible.
He has made several public comments "he's a midfielder", "he's a Spurs player" and his latest gem about some talented players are lazy and don't play for the team.
A sale or a loan, it doesn't matter, just get him out.
That is what a winning mentality does, it cuts out a potential cancer, a player not on board.
I expect to see the French international at PSG before the window shuts in a weeks time.

With two years of Lloris to look forward to I suspect that gives us a little leeway to explore. A top-level alternative now or next season may cause problems as they're unlikely to want to play second fiddle for more than a season. Summer 2023 will be a time to rethink if necessary. The way Hugo is going it's perfectly feasible he may extend even further; it'll probably be decided around that time based on how well he's holding it together and performing generally.
One benefit of a youngster coming in soon with a view to taking over when needed is that he gets to work with Hugo, and that will help the attitude and mentality of any lucky youngster. Hugo is top, top class attitude-wise. Ironic that he's French, from whence so many…
