Tottenham Transfer Talk on Friday 12th November

Harry-Kane

Hello happy Spurs folk, a quick round up post while I put together a new project I'm working on.

It will be interesting to see selection after the international break and some players, like Harry Winks, will have been at Spurs training and getting fitter under Antonio Conte and his three fitness coaches.

International players will be tired perhaps, Skipp has a ban for some of his stupid yellow cards so there is a conundrum to solve. Will Winks get an opportunity or will he have to wait for a European game or remain on the bench?

It's not all change on the transfer hunt, we will still be viewing Italy as a major market for us with the knowledge of both Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte now.

Xavi Simons

Spurs are monitoring the progress Dutch 18-year-old (19 next April) PSG midfielder Xavi Simons.

PSG keep losing young talent as there is no path to the first team for them and his contract expires in June 2022.

He is a right-footed central midfielder who was with CD Tháder Rojales (2008-2010), FC Barcelona (2010-2019) and has played for Netherlands U-19's twice.

His agent is Mino Raiola and he had won the Ballon d'Or for the best youth player four times when he was just 17.

Raiola, who also represents Paul Pogba and Erling Haaland, wanted his client, who was named after Barcelona Xavi, to have special status within Barça’s youth setup and to that end, told the club that there was a lot of interest in him should they refuse.

Barcelona did not want to make an exception for Simons, so Raiola struck a deal with PSG and Simons moved in July 2019.

This guy is a bit special, he is expected to develop into a major star so securing and developing him would be brilliant for Spurs.

Mattjs de Ligt

There is plenty of talk in Italy of Mattjs de Ligt leaving Juventus next summer and Tottenham through Fabio Paratici being very interested.

However, Chelsea are being reported as willing to offer 120m (£101.16m - US$139.04m - AUS$185.14m) for his services.

That would surely rule us out.

Dejan Kulusevski

Dejan Kulusevski was one of the 'made in Paratici' hits of the season before the sporting director left for London to hold the same position at Tottenham.

Paratici is again be on the trail of the Swede to deliver an offensive winger to Nuno Espirito Santo, with, to my eyes, Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura both not looking up to the level Spurs require.

Weston McKennie

Tottenham made a loan with no obligation to buy offer to Juventus in August for USA midfielder Weston McKennie.

That offer was turned down by Juve as they wanted an outright sale.

That is still their stance, they want midfield reinforcements and need to clear McKennie out but they also want the money so will only entertain a loan if it has an obligation to buy.

Juventus wanted £30m for him in the summer so Paratici will be seeking a lower figure in January or next summer, depending on when we can shift non-homegrown players to make way for him.

Andrea Belotti

Torino boss Ivan Juric announced Andrea Belotti will not sign a new deal and will therefore be a free agent in the summer.

The forward has struggled with injuries and scored only once in six appearances for the Serie A club this season – having been involved in 20 goals in 36 games last season.

The 27-year-old featured for Italy during Euro 2020 and has collected 39 senior caps for the Azzurri over the past five years.

Mauro Icardi

Mauro Icardi wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain.

The 28-year-old striker is struggling for game time at PSG since Lionel Messi joined, he has been relegated to the bench, starting just six of PSG’s 15 games.

Manor Solomon

Tottenham have asked about Shakhtar Donetsk forward Manor Solomon.

The 22-year-old has been scored 20 goals and registered 9 assists in 97 appearances.

Arthur Cabral

Tottenham have been scouting 23-year-old Brazilian forward Arthur Cabral.

Rodrigo Varanda

Spurs have reportedly expressed an interest in making an audacious move for Corinthians youngster Rodrigo Varanda.

The 18-year-old (19 next January)has already made 10 appearances for São Bernardo Futebol Clube (SP) where he is on loan for the season, scoring once and setting up another in the
Paulistão A1 - Primeira fase.

The teenager, whose deal with the Brazilian outfit is due to expire in 2024, not in January as reported elsewhere, is understood to be attracting interest from Europe.

Spurs have had discussions over a possible move to North London, an £8.5m deal.

The Brazilian plays as a second striker at  and has made 10 appearances for them.

Mikkel Damsgaard

Mikkel-Damsgaard

According to Tuttosport, Spurs are still at the head of the queue to sign 21-year-old (22 next July) versatile attacker Mikkel Damsgaard.

Currently with Serie A side Sampdoria, the Danish international (13 caps, 4 goals, 7 assists) left-winger has played 552 minutes and not scored a goal or had an assist across his 8 games.

Damsgaard has had 11 shots, 2 on target (18.2%) and a dribbling success rate (14/19) of 73.7% this season.

Paul Onuachu

Paul Onuachu
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined West Ham United in the race to sign 27-year-old (28 next May) Genk striker Paul Onuachu.

That is what the reports are saying which suggests he is being scouted and considered.

The Genk hitman, a giant at 6ft 7in, hasn't scored in 5 games but has scored 9 goals in 11 league games after scoring 29 goals in 33 games last season.

He has had 40 shots so far this season with 55% being on target.

Genk were asking £22.02m (€26m - US$30.38m - AUS$40.32m) for him last summer.

Last season in the Belgian League Onuachu was:
  • 1st for goals (29)
  • 1st for goals per 90 minutes (1.01)
  • 1st for goals and assists (31)
  • 1st for goals and assists per 90 minutes (1.08)
  • 1st for penalties scored (8)
  • 1st for non-penalty goals (21)
  • 1st for non-penalty goals per 90 minutes (0.73)
  • 1st for shots on target (48)
This season Onuachu has scored 3 of the 5 penalties (1st) Genk have been awarded and had 22 shots on target (1st).

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in 18-year-old Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz. [BILD]

Spurs remain strongly interested in striker Dušan Vlahović (Fiorentina) who has just scored his second hat-trick of the season and free agent in the summer Franck Kessié (AC Milan).

Indeed plenty of talk that we are securing the services of free agent Kessié for £165,000-a-week in the Italian press. He has told Spurs he'll sign but, yes there is a but, Barcelona are interested so nothing is set in stone yet.

André Onana

A player I suggested in the summer, after his ban for drugs was André Onana and so it comes to pass that we are now interested in him if reports are to be believed and why wouldn't they, he's a quality keeper.

We have signed a replacement for Lloris, initially on loan, but Antonio Conte may have other ideas.

Onana was given a 12 month ban, reduced to 9 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The 25-year-old (26 next April) Cameroon international has resumed training with Ajax and is available for selection.

His contract ends this summer so he will be a free agent.
