Tottenham Talk - Wolves vs Spurs Report
Dele Alli, Giovanni Lo Celso and Japhet Tanganga all missed glorious chances to put the game to bed after just 45 minutes.
However, we only went into the break 2-1 up.
A tackle won by Skipp, a poor ball to Ndombele that he rescues and persevered with to block down a clearance and eventually put the ball in the net.
A lovely first time passing move saw Dele play Kane through to slot home the second and out us in control of the game.
A poor piece of defending from a corner by Ndombele gifted a header for Wolves to pull one back.
A talk about his defending not being good enough, not being motivated enough, as if it is a chore he doesn't really want to do and he has been responsible for the first goal at Rennes and now this one.
That is two goals conceded that are down to him in just three games.
He seems to score one and then cancel it out by giving the opposition one.
The passing football is much more what we want to see, we are a better side than our own fans give us credit for.
Second half and Ndombele strikes again and makes a mess in a dangerous position to allow Wolves straight at our central defenders and an equalizer.
That's three opposition goal he is responsible for in three games, we had a 2-0 lead and Ndombele was responsible for levelling. the scores.
Gil missed from 6-yard and Kane missed a header so that is seven glorious chances in the game and we only took two.
Fortunately we won the penalty shoot-out with Wolves missing three, Gollini saving one and ourselves missing one, a poor effort from Højbjerg.
We were the better side and should have won more comfortably but the game raised questions, most notably about Ndombele and how do we keep him away from defensive duties.
He has lapses in concentration and that's because it is something he doesn't want to do, he doesn't care enough.
He needs a psychologist working with him but how many times do we have to see evidence of this before something is done and football moves with the times, instead of clinging to the dark ages.
It was a game we should have won comfortably, but didn't.
In the first half we had 54% possession and in the second half only 44%.
In the first half their keeper, Ruddy, made no saves, Gollini made two.
In the second half, Ruddy made four saves, Gollini made none.
Both sides had 47 dangerous attacks and scored two each, but we gifted them their two, whereas we created our two
Well that's it for this morning's offering folks.

He was bought to play in a team and with a style where we would dominate possession, and he would have been key in unlocking resolute defences in a way that Eriksen never could. Taking a man out of the game with a dribble, thus pulling a defender out of position as they would have to close him down, which would create space for attacking movement.
Under Jose and to some extent under Nuno we are happier to let the opposition have the ball, and he doesn't seem to have the willingness to participate in that part of the game.
Football is about so much more than the 5 minutes the ball is at his feet and he needs to participate more in the 85 mins we don't have the ball. He needs to learn to love that part of the game like the Italians do.
Until he does that he will be playing at 25% of his undoubtedly huge potential. With the signing of Sarr who seems to have the ability to transition and defend well he may find himself more challenged for game time next …
COYS!!
